The only thing lost is gold. You can view your play history by pressing "P" on the keyboard. You just don't have the new item stars if you crash, because those are cleared by a refresh. If you are certain you didn't receive your items, you can put in a help ticket using the "Help and Support" link in the footer of the game and we'll take a look at your account.
