I’m a freelance illustrator who currently works in an OfficeMax print center because there are bills to pay. (Will draw for food.)

I recently stumbled into having a “Dawn of the Dragons” account. I joined just to get badges and ended up actually enjoying the game. Go figure.

I like giving characters “J” names and coming up with more complicated backstories and motivations than the game provides. For example, I had two different characters throughout the Mass Effect trilogy:

• Jehoshaphat “Joe” Shepard, a Vanguard with massive survivor guilt after the events on Mindoir and Akuze. He fights like he has a death wish, with the Vanguard’s close-combat fighting style being practically suicidal by nature. He, of course, survives in Mass Effect 3 by choosing the “Destroy” ending.
• Jemima “Jem” Shepard, an earthborn orphan with natural technical skills that she first used to help underworld gangs and later to enlist in the Alliance military as an Engineer. She comes across as ruthless because she sees other people like she sees machines: they have a purpose and are only “working” if they serve their purpose. She chose the “Control” ending in ME3 and became the Machine-Empress of the galaxy.
