Memorizing is the best strategy to win. Do arrows count. Consider which arrows is dangerous, which arrows is safe to use booster.
Since there is no minimap... again... memorizing is the best strategy -.-
Sword upgrade is the first thing you should maxed out. Red potion is the most cheating potion in this game. If you found it, try not not use it.
Remember that potions can be carried through different levels, so use the red potion only in case of emergency.
I think Raven,Pigeon,Helmet and shields are very useful items. If you got them, just equip.
Overall I very love these kind of games, I love upgrades,RPG,Rogue-Like(kongregate doesn't have much of these games). Eventhough this game is quite too short. I love it :)
I got all 3 badges in first play. Here is what i do
1.I Choose Chaos Desert Clan
2.Try to max high bolts and low bolts first (choose attack only, defense are useless) Dont forget about mana! or you will end up have no mana left
3.Get Twice first ,then Decrease special , and additional high/low bolt , Burn these skills are extremely useful. Especially Negate and decrease special
4.spend some in HP(but not too much) or you will end up lose poison water mages as they can inflict 10 damage straightly to you (about 100 is okay for the early game, but u can increase more if u dont have mana problem)
5.What about becoming the great mage?? choose neutral, get alot of reputaton, defeat both white robe mages and black robemages(spare their lives!) in Great mage election. You can plus this if youu think it is helpful
i got all gold medals and got the hard badge already. these order work well on every level.

Guillotine Blade (Katana moves) is extremely imba. Its damage base on the target's defence. if you wear full set armor = instant death.
if you wanna capture cities in Far East Empire, take off your armors is a good idea to try
