The 'Upgrades' tag I'll grant you, but it's not much of an 'Idle' game when the player has to constantly adjust the levels. If there's auto-buyers for upgrades and prestige, they're late to the party.
I assume the game world is supposed to be a pitch-black void that can't be navigated. Otherwise, one might think the game was horribly bugged out and unplayable.
I don't think I've ever seen an AI so aggressively useless as to be detrimental. When the attackers ignore the weakest targets and the healers waste recovery moves on allies at full health, it starts to feel like the game's designed to force players to waste their time and energy by throwing matches.
Who the hell greenlit this interface? Seriously, between the excessive number of tabs and the incessant scrolling up and down to find the button I need, I spent twice as long on every single action as was necessary.
When a game's this pushy about its paid content, you know it's gonna be a chore if you don't want to waste your money. Dunno why Kongregate wastes time porting these lousy mobile games.
Boring. There's no better word for this tired, predictable grind-a-thon: even by the absurdly-low standards of the done-to-undeath 'zombie shooter' genre,
It.
Is.
BORING.
Still intermittently running into those Javascript/Unity errors when I try to craft new items -- it seems to happen more frequently when I'm about to hit another Rune, though I can't be sure if it's related or not. Reloading the page a few times seems to sidestep the problem, though it'd be better if it stopped happening entirely, since getting those error messages isn't doing any favors for my anxiety.
What is it with Kongregate adding badges to games that no longer work properly? With how many times I've lost progress on this game just since it was badged, it's clear that the only way you'll be able to earn the higher-level badges is by playing the game nonstop until you get them -- whatever system the devs used for the autosave, it no longer seems to work as intended.
Pretty sure I lost progress from years ago, which I don't mind so much on a more arcade-y game like this one. What gets annoying is that I came back to the game after taking a break from it earlier today... only to find my progress FROM JUST HOURS AGO had been wiped.
...Somebody get Mr. Bison to a doctor, I think he might be concussed from all those rocket-propelled headers into the ground.
Some games are free-to-play/pay-to-win. THIS game is free-to-wait/pay-to-play -- sure, you don't HAVE to pay the skinflints who made it anything, but you'll spend so much time sitting around doing absolutely NOTHING that it can't even be called 'playing' anymore. I might as well be growing ACTUAL crops!
I've started running into Javascript memory-access errors when I try crafting new items -- the browser page pops up with a message saying that the memory access is out of bounds or some such, and the game locks up. Not sure if it's something I can address or if it's an issue with Java no longer playing nice with the more recent browser versions, but at least the cloud save and load still work fine, so I didn't have to start completely from scratch and lose over a year of play time.
Well-made though it is overall, this game's very much not suited for playing on a laptop with a trackpad -- aiming with one finger while keeping the mouse button held down with another is a recipe for hand cramps, which'll end your best run pretty fast. Having an Auto-Fire toggle (or even an Auto-Aim feature as a shop upgrade) and the option to re-bind the movement keys to the Arrows instead of WASD would be a big help, because otherwise, I don't see myself being able to stick with this game for long.
When I earn an Easy, Medium and Hard badge each *by accident* while deliberately trying to earn the first of the Easy badges, something's wrong with the balance. Seriously, why is the '100 coins' badge not cumulative? I hit that total in two runs just by running in a straight line for 8 minutes.
