I had an epiphany after seeing the walkthrough to lvl 10. Cutting is as important as Linking.
Links cost cell pts to make according to their length. Cutting a link allocates those points between target and host cell as per where you cut the chain. So you can link to something more than 4 links away which requires 3 to occupy. Cut the link right after it's made near the host and the target is immediately occupied.
The instructions and trainer didn't make this clear.
My strategy - single shot snipers! Play it like a SWAT team. See my rants above it wasn't easy at first. But I noticed that my bullets can scrape very close to friendlies and VIP's without hurting them so I could snipe enemies standing right beside them.
The reward for all the money and stars is the last level - no civvies and no VIP's so buy tanks and artillery and HAVE FUN!!!!
Honestly. I've played lvl 15 more times than the rest of the levels - put together. One wrong shot by you or the enemy and a chain reaction wipes out all your civilians! Why oh why would a commando take cover behind an exploding barrel.. For Crying Out Loud. (5/5)
Sorry. In spite of the nice artwork and fine music, this is nothing more than another platform jumping puzzler.
Even since the days of Manic Miner and Donkey Kong, I have NEVER liked platform games.
can't play this in real time, fingers keep crossing over on the keyboard and even the easiest level has killed me 20 times without me still progressing. HTF do I do this?
trying to put a selected card into a slot has to be pixel perfect and done slowly and patiently so I don't accidentally dbl-click to remove it after so delicately trying to place it. 2/5 for that gripe alone - otherwise I would easily have awarded 4!
I am lvl 1 - just starting for some reason and all the territories surrounding me are at least lvl 5? I would not mind if there was a "difficult" setting that made it impossible to progress - it appears that I am guaranteed to be beaten every single time.
Just what is it I have to do to be able to leave my compound. I have persistently attempted to draw up a force of at least 200 swordsmen but they keep getting wiped out by skirmishes.
I want to play this game but can't even get off the plate!
It's a bit "Small" - that is, very tiny view pane in which the action takes place. Otherwise V Good 4/5.
But at the end - when I managed to destroy the final base - screen went white with Victory across it, but I couldn't get back home, the Missions panel still reported Incomplete though Achievements was complete, and I could not quit.
PPL who are finding things really difficult - may need to be reminded to click on the "Skills" tab between games to upgrade their abilities? And you may repeat levels to get better scores with ur better abilities.
Now a question: what's the best level to do "Endurance" on?
