It would be nice if we could somehow disable or "obsolete" any particular button once we know we aren't purchasing any more of them (wormholes, huts, explorers, shield block upgrade, etc)
It's rare to find a rougelike where ALL the classes are fun. Sure, I have favorites (Pugalist and Paladin) but then I think "eh, I'll try a thief game" and remember how much I enjoy them (or the others) too.
Ugh, I made it all the way through normal mode thinking that the Shield program was useless, not realizing it's an express ticket through those dang acid puddles
@Samgar Thanks for responding and not just downvoting. Grinding for Oaks is certainly productive, it just isn't as interesting as tournaments and, to a lesser extent, open multi. I like the game, I just don't think it'll hold my interest long enough for me to reach the good parts. I still came back today though, so I guess we'll see...
This game is awful for newbies. I enjoyed the campaign and putting together my first purple deck (blue is a bit trickier for me), but now I'm stuck. I can't win on journeyman (or even apprentice with blue). Multiplayer is literally over before I understand what hit me: I'm 0-9, where only one of those games was even competitive. Even tournaments don't even the playing field for me.
How about setting up the matchmaking to match people with similar deck quality? Give cards a value based on rarity and upgrade level, or something. It's silly for me to play against decks with most cards fully upgraded and I don't have time for the grind.
kogut pointed this out already, but Divine Intervention is absolutely broken with hydras. I just finished a Very Hard game with the Celts with 47 of them. (Not sure I didn't make the leaderboard though...) Also, 65 peasants, 10 empty shooting grounds (why bother hiring archers?), 10 techs, and two unused scrolls.
Some interesting, and possibly useful info:
-Zombies only spawn at the edge of the map and shuffle inward; if some territory is surrounded by your camp, it won't generate new zombies (though they can still move from tile to tile.)
-If you control ALL the edges of the town, no new zombies will spawn except as part of hordes and you will eventually wear them down. (Still testing this as a viable strategy...)
-Hordes won't spawn adjacent to your camp. If every uncontrolled tile is adjacent to your camp (generally an awful strategy) then hordes can't spawn.
Why does everyone downvote the crap out of people in other countries constantly getting disconnected? It's a real problem for some (apparently a lot) of us.
Hey Nosaji! We're investigating some connectivity issue that happened this weekend. Right now it should work properly, if you're still experiencing problems, let us know.
I'm thinking how to fix it. (May be exorcism will forbid hydras splitting.)
