It's so strange. I'm not a fan of the 'escape the room' style games mostly because of the frankly stupid logic they follow. This, however, is the exception. It's simple and, while there is technically quite a few items to use and find, the items are either useful in either a single instance or they have a clear, universal use. I found the music to be peaceful, the pace to be welcoming, and the surreal feeling to complement the game's themes as a whole. For me, the fact I managed to escape without a walkthrough and without major stress was quite nice. It has a strange logic unto itself, but the game doesn't pressure you into escaping quickly and I really appreciate it. A speedrun is completely possible, but I feel the developer didn't include achievements past beating the game because it wasn't about how quickly and efficiently you could escape, but rather about the journey instead. What an enjoyable and well made game.
Oh christ. Why is it that with every game involving both genders, the men cover up more while the women cover up less? I mean seriously? Is your target audience that ADHD? Granted, my ADHD causes me to rant about inconsequential things such as this, but seriously? This is why games are literally the same now. Let's not innovate, just add cleavage. That's great.
I'll admit, I've never been too big on racing games seeing as they're incredibly common but honestly, this one is incredibly fun due to its simplicity and it is absolutely chock FULL of references. I almost didn't notice the Dukes but when I did I know you had done your homework. I'm going to keep playing this for a while today. Congrats on getting a skeptic like me hooked. :P
The game itself is somewhat short but honestly, it does its job well. I love how the messages are conveyed and how fair and non-aggressive it is. I've already seen people claiming it's a 'brainwashing game', but to be frank if it were meant to be brainwashing you would be FORCED to play it, not given the choice to.
I loved the difficulty curve and how you portrayed the obstacles. Well done, Kran. I don't expect a longer game but you would see me come back for a nice puzzler if you did update it. :)
Thanks for the kind words dude! Yeah some people are a bit negative but whatever, those people will show up anywhere. Overall I'm extremely amazed at how awesome the community here has received the game, you folks are pretty awesome people. As far updates go, I'm planning on releasing a mobile version of this game eventually, with more content and levels and stuff ^_^
@deathmike There is a daytime.
@Monkius The game is in beta. The best part about the whole thing is you don't have to spend a dime and can find gasoline from missions. They're adding content when they can.
Fun game so far but it really takes the horror feeling away when there is literally no downside to holding down the fire button. No reload, damage is pretty good, and the knockback prevents any real danger from reaching the player. It removed me from the whole psychological horror feel.
This... this game doesn't teach well. First two levels have signs that are exactly the same, you don't get a sign explaining that some animals respawn doesn't show up until you've seen it happen a few times, and the fact mice make you smaller isn't explained from how far I've played. Not a bad game, no, just bad when it comes to teaching the player how to use the mechanics.
Nathan, there is an organizing section in your backpack. Just click your inventory and at the top of its box will show you what you can click to sort the materials.
It's an ok game from what I've played but there are so many sprites literally /RIPPED/ from Zelda I'm already wary of the game. The fact it uses topdown, fixed camera like Zelda but uses RPG effects makes it difficult to play at times, especially the short invulnerability period after being hit doesn't help when you're backed into a corner early in the first level. I know it shouldn't be hard to control and it's basic fighting but honestly, your first five times you level up, upgrade strength and sword, should make a difference. I upgraded strength every single time along with the sword skill and I rarely see damage done over 2 (the highest I get is a 3). I would suggest making beginning enemies a little squishier or leveling up a little more gratifying. I'm no stranger for grinding to level up but it shouldn't be a grindfest in the very first level.
3/5 so far but score may change later.
I'll admit, I had my reservations when I first saw it was a side-scrolling space shooter. I thought 'It's been done before'. I was proven wrong. I fact each weapon is a sidegrade instead of an upgrade gave its combat more depth than most and the super mode actually isn't as overpowered as I thought it would be. It's useful against bosses but it takes actual strategy to defeat them. The story, while slow at first, builds actual characters and you slowly learn more about them, building a connection between you and the characters. I won't spoil anything but there were parts where I was actually sad because of what happened during the story. When I beat the Earthwall I was like 'Welp, that's it. Fun game.'... AND THEN THE NEXT AREA OPENED UP! I have yet to beat the game but without a doubt, this simplistic game is by far one of the best games I have played on Kongregate for some time.
Jesus ice cream dropping christ... a dungeon crawler... nothing new there... but it's actually GOOD? A FAST PACED... DUNGEON CRAWLER... THAT WORKS?! Ohmylord. You have won my five stars. I love the throwback graphics, the 'outdated' sounds, how simple the gameplay is and how you can essentially make your own classes according to what items you pick up. If I could offer any advice I would say add a gold system and put a store in-between each level but in all honesty, the game is great as is. Maybe add actual classes to pick from in the beginning to work with their strengths and weakness as part of the gameplay. Adding ranged items or spells could add to the diversity of the gameplay and maybe adding a difficulty setting for casual to extreme gamers to enjoy. This game is getting five stars whether it's changed or not. Good job, Kintogames. Good job.
@Andrelouise It's basic economics, really. No one's going to buy what you sell for a high price because they want to buy low and sell high. You aren't going to make as much money as a big business that everyone knows well and possibly trusts pretty well.
Simply put, the vendors will make the most money and you'll be able to shave a small profit.
Like many games of this type, I enjoy it thoroughly. The upgrades are nice, they fit the theme rather well I'll admit. However, they seem to make little effect until you get to the top tier upgrades. I like the aesthetic changes but there are times I wonder if the new tire I bought is really helping me or not. Not a bad game, just a few small tweaks could make it much better. (Physics is a bit off as well. Sitting at the top of a hill at its edge should send me rolling. It's a game, though, so perfect physics aren't expected... kinda don't want perfection, either. Perfection means my long falls would end in death or so... so yeah. :P) 4/5
Same thing goes for me that Shihfu had. Ammo being rarer should have posed a challenge along with the food and water issue but in the end it was less of a challenge. Heck, it was EASIER! Still a great game but if this is ever updated, I'd like to see an actual challenge mode where ammo is literally rare, buying it will run you out of money quickly, and other bits to make the game tougher.
