This game is a great concept but the programming is dick. Hit detection is bad, control is bad, jump arc is bad. Make a sequel or fix this one, because while the game is good and the level design is good, it's more unfair because of the shitty programming than the level design, and that's just not fun at all.
I think people missed the idea of the ludum dare... either way, it's not the best, but it's a good start for a 48 hour game, and I can see there's a lot of potential to do something great if you give yourself more time.
The primary source of frustration in this game for me comes from the respawn time. If that could be shortened to almost nothing, I wouldn't want to punch something when I died 12 times in a row on a part.
The secret message "Including Ico" I think is a nod to the game "Ico", in which you play as a boy and you have team up with a girl. You can have her follow you and stand still, just like in KOLM. It makes sense, since the first one was also telling you what kind of game KOLM is ("It's kind of like Metriod").

Pneguins are aquatic, flightless birds. Birds are not defined by their ability to fly, but rather other biological indicators and common ancestry.
why waste?
