...You used a picture from Battle For Wesnoth on the main page. I'd double check to make sure that's legal / ethical / wouldn't upset the artists for Battle For Wesnoth. Oh, little Mage, how fondly I remember you.
Addicting. Combines RPG with Strategy. The dog on a horse brings me back to old Heroes of Might and Magic memories (and a little bit of Super Mario RPG with the stat system, too!). I really like this game!
As another player posted, PLEASE add a screen where we can see all the abilities we've gotten with our level ups. I like the random three options we get per level, but I'd like a screen where I can see everything I've ever chosen.
So far, I'm really enjoying the length of the game. Why? Because it feels more like an actual campaign, not some short mini-blurb game you play like most Flash games. Great work - but for the sequel, which I hope you make, please make sure to look at the smaller details you may have overlooked this time.
Give us the option to choose what word prefix/suffix we have at the very start - otherwise, you may end up clicking 'end game' and 'play' over and over to meet the requirements for a new rank (such as finding a suffix you know well, or getting a prefix/suffix to help with Rank 7's 'w' and 'k' challenge).
I think this is another bug: The unidog - or whatever it's called - has a power down attack. Said power down is supposed to only last for as long as you keep it up, right? Well, for some reason that power down is permanent AND stacks. When you have over 200 hp and your opponents are hitting you for 3 damage each because you used power down on them 4 times, the game loses its challenge... (And, yes, fighting at an appropriately leveled monster, too.)
This game isn't bad, but I find it dreadfully easy. I've beaten six levels so far by using the good ol' MMO tactic of 'pulling' my opponents. I shoot at them from a very far off position, run away, and let them come to me while their buddies stand around dumbly.
I'm enjoying myself a bit, but the AI needs some work. Still, very good for a flash game.
There is a single bug that I ran across that I'm not sure if it's been fixed yet or not. Somehow, my first save file's commander stopped leveling completely, recieving "NAN" experience while my heroes kept recieving their normal amounts. I just restarted and made a second save file, but I still had to start over. If this issue hasn't been resolved, it might need to be. Also, this was a very fun game, though I wish the main plot had more choice in it or at least side quests for each faction. Here's to hoping for a Protector V.
