Great game! Some of the enemy placement needed some work, and that end boss was really... pointless. But since the concept and the overall design was really fun, those picks didn't break the game nor the fun.
The art is cool, the music is catchy (though it becomes boring after awhile, and since you might die a lot, love the M key), but the whole random aspect of the game makes it really annoying. That leveling system doesn't make me feel like I'm actually leveling, as in becoming better.
I disagree with the whole "gimme upgrades for leveling", instead just make it consistent so when you die, what you learn actually makes you progress further and further. Wanting an item and not having it appear is awful, and that random dragon is the worst offender.
This said, if you want to make a leveling system with upgrades, make them not turn the game into "easy" territory, or else the whole learn with mistakes turns into die and level until win.
You guys have a really neat concept here, you can either make a delightfully fun piece of art or an boringly generic piece of crap.
I would suggest adding sound to this game, as in every time a ninja is shot, he would scream the sound of the symbol. I learned a bit of japanese on a website and it helped having a sound so I wouldn't say chi as "shi" instead of "tchi"
Swear to god that the sfx for the bar growing sounds like the first few notes of the addams family theme song. It almost played the first 3 seconds once.
Number 2... Some achievements didn't work, the first boss one and the save the world one. Also, I press start survive and suddenly my gun explodes out of the blue right at the beginning and skips every pop up box...
Is this a chrome only problem?
So... A couple of bugs. One, when I pause the game, sometimes the "back" button stays on the field, and it stays until the end of the wave. DON'T TOUCH IT WHEN THE WAVE ENDS or it'll start the game again while you are still on the menu, disabling the main menu and start wave, forcing you too refresh, and when you refresh, you start the new wave but don't keep the money from the former.
Also, dunno why, but pressing main menu flashed the screen and suddenly my gun disappeared, and the enemies just stay there, shooting at nothing.
Also I didn't notice, so if some people didn't notice aswell, if you click the empty white circles, you can buy small turrets.
Its a nice graphical concept, but the controls suck for non-touch platforms, and you could make it more fun by adding some patterns to the enemies, make them more like an old-school arcade like shooter.
Neat game. A couple of bugs I found:
1 - If you have enough bones you can buy the archeologists outfit again even if it has no price nor it does anything.
2 - If you exit the drill and immedeatrly get on a mole, the mole will only move if the player digs a path (by pressing a key or pointing with the mouse.)
ahahaha!
