I played this game to get the Kong medal and although it is very well made and fun for a time it was a grind to get the med badge. Just off to hand my notice in to Papa Louie with the song "Your not the Boss of me now!" playing in the background...
Reminds me of the battle screens from Warsong/Der Langrisser. So doesn't feel like a game as a whole. Would be great if it could be developed into a more modern take on the Warsong series with a tactical map for moving units and commanders then use this as the battle screen for resolving conflicts.
Fun to begin with, great graphics. Would have liked to have been able to mute music and keep sound effects. A shame, such effort went into the game but it has no ending, not even a 'game complete' screen. Yes it does get a repetitive. Would love to to see a sequel with a bit more polish. 3* for zany robot laser blasting carnage, would have been 4* if they'd bothered with an ending.
I really wanted to enjoy this game and still feel it has potential but I found it very frustrating the game would not give me a description of a tower until I could afford it, thus making it hard to decide if i should save my cash or blow it on lower level towers to shore up my defences. I liked the design of the enemys. I agree the music seems a bit of tone, perhaps something a faster and punchier? Would very much like to see a sequel with more levels and more friendly interface.
Well blow me (up)! An interesting little game that expands on it's simple game mechanics to provide an excellent challenge, coupled with atmospheric graphics and suitable mood music made for an enjoyable game. 4*
I enjoyed the game, animation, graphics and music are great. Creates an excellent siege atmosphere as your troops switch places to pour fire on the next enemy. The story was adequete right up till the end. I read there was a twist so I was keen to get to it and was utterly dissapointed. I have a vague idea at what the games designer is going for with the ending but really, could they clarify it a bit. Would have given 5/5 but dropping the ball on the end paragraph drags it down to 4/5.
Definately some balance issues. I upgraded to the first 2 weapons then died once around level 5, after doing it again I had enough for last weapon and game went from being a bit too hard to far too easy. From then on I could not lose, fully upgraded everything. Even tried using a lower weapon to up the challenge but ends up atoo hard again. Shame, I like the idea and character design. 2*
