Incidentally, the guy who hates it for no apparent reason has a Family Guy avatar, his name is in all caps, ends with a sequence of repeating numbers, and claims that he is quite the awesome guy.
Nothing about that is not failure, I'm afraid.
One thing I noticed is that, on chapter 3, instead of listing the stages "1, 2, 3, 4, 5, etc." It lists 3 twice. Doesn't affect gameplay or anything, but, eh. >.>
Arlock, are you seriously rating the game lower because you don't use Halberds are Archers and think that the races that do are balanced incorrectly? >_>
Newbzorz, I'm pretty sure the classes aren't supposed to be as balanced as they are different. Think of them like subdifficulties based on how well you play.
I posted a fairly rant-ish review earlier, and I think the game deserves a 3/5, and that it is rather annoying that Fizzy posts demos most of the time, but rating 1/5 because it's a demo is stupid. Especially when it's still longer than plenty of other flash games, and has a bit of replayability (if you liked it in the first place). I think the main problem, though, is that if something closes the browser while you're on the level up screen, you can no longer enter the "Load Character" section. There should just be a "Delete Data" button on the title menu, or something along those lines.
Everyone complaining that they didn't know it was a demo at first should have checked the game description. Or that spot on the title that says "Version 1.1.2 Demo Online". >.>
The game is wonderful, although the looks are a bit dull. Great concept, as well. Classes are well-balanced, main problem, though, is that the bosses aren't. Rather than a solid difficulty increase from the start with maybe one or two fluctuating ones, they switch from challenging to simple fights. For instance, the Jester Prince and Medusa are both rather annoying, but most bosses seem to be pushovers, with enemies only one or two levels later in the game more challenging. All that aside, though, I still think this game deserves a 5/5.
This game is plenty easier to get into than the other two Swords and Sandals games (imo), and it's nice that the demo is much longer this time around, but the game is simply unbalanced. For instance, a melee fighter can start from the beginning and still continue to beat any foe, while someone using a Guitar, Bow, or Magic can have trouble beating just about ANY enemy with high health/armor. The game has plenty of glitches, and the whole instant-death crit thing just make the game unfair at some points, towards you OR a boss. It's good, but I wouldn't be willing to buy it unless bugs were fixed and more talents were actually helpful. (5% increased chance to hit with guitars when they already have a 100% chance to hit?)
