Gameplay is awesome—five stars. No need to add PvP to this gem! I enjoy card PvP, but I really like the overarching balance as-is. However, unfortunately, immodest art here and there taints it somewhat—four stars.
I just want anyone in the next few days who reads these comments to hear that not only is Card Hunter an excellent game by itself, but BlueManchu (with FlaxativeCH!) actively fosters a great community and provides excellent customer service and game support when the need arises. Thank you, BM! $:^ ]
P.S. Is there any way to actually -view- the "medals" you earn in-game? If anyone sees this and knows, feel free to respond on my profile or even PM me, thank you. ~nodnod~
I played it. I beat it. I .. liked it okay. It felt like it had a lot of potential for depth in its customization, but the first 2/3 of the game was upgrade my chars, mainly stick to attacking things directly. Finally, I actually started dying some (and even lost once!) late in the game, and I started really -needing- my class skills. The dialogue was cute. (The immodesty was unnecessary.) The UI was clunky in places. Three stars. I hope the sequel's better! :)
A rare game where I rate before finishing it! (5 stars btw) What did I say in chat the other day? Enjoying playing a video game .. about a card game .. about a role-playing game .. where the characters play a card game .. where the cards are characters .. beautiful! $E^ D
Fascinating, thank you for it. I've given rave reviews of the previous two in the trilogy, thus I won't dote on and on here as well. My only real disappointments were the vain expression about God early on, the fact that this entry seemed much shorter and much more linear than the other two, and nigh lack of alluding to and repurposing the previous installments' assets; nodding to what LeboLebo said, I thought the gray hall with doors and a window was going to throw me into disjointed segments of the previous dreams; I do understand this not happening for in-universe consistency, though. Btw, the link to the player's/character's name and red-rope effigy (with the previous game's poster) is absolutely *awful* -- in the best of ways! :D
Overall, I enjoyed a lot. The music held a nice, appropriate atmosphere. The "story" (given by the lady in red) really didn't make much sense, though, and the gameplay eventually got a bit mechanical and repetitive when trying to get everything. Nevertheless, 4 stars. Thanks for a fun twist on Minesweeper! :)
Nice parody! Thanks for it. I got all stars and trophies. I didn't get to read the endings before it faded out, though; I had to seek screencaps/video of the endings elsewhere online because you seem to have timed the fadeout independently from the text output. I give it 4.5 stars, which hey, rounds up to 5! :)
Nibelsnarf: I don't know where you're stuck, but the first puzzle is probably the hardest (which was probably poor design choice by the game creator). When you see the circle with the dashed-line border, it gives you the clue you need to solve the puzzle right next to you...
Very lovely! The atmosphere (sounds, visuals, awesome music,) really give this whole gem character. Short, sweet, with just a bit of challenge to pass a few minutes. Thank you, fastgames, for the experience. :)
Fun and cute. I'd be interested in the hard badge except for the glitch that plunks me in the water sometimes before I even get off the ramp (which dropped a star off my rating). Now to play the sequel! :)
So much excellence. The gameplay, the story, the music, the art, the attention to so many details, the fleshing out of a whole world, etc. There's even an unspoken system of characters' names incorporating parents' names and element types! So much good humor and light-hearted satire. I only rated 4/5 though. The main story stays mostly clean, but unfortunately I felt the need to stop talking to NPCs and reading books due to *so* much lewd and crude "humor."
Pretty cute and funny. Unfortunately, I left one building and the game got stuck. Yeeaah, pretty buggy. I might've given you a 3 if by the end I liked it okay, but especially for the game-breaking bug, gotta give you a 2. (Don't like it. I'm not gonna say I *hate* it, though. It's not like you were being vile or anything.) Cheers. $:^ ]
Wonderful. So short, and yet so lovely. (I've played chapters 1-2 so far. I'll get to 3 eventually here.) My only complaints are 1. on the art side, the "hurry up" like Lyciawyn said, and 2. the vain exclamation of God's name (although I can see from the other chapters that at least this character might actually mean it and not just be saying it vainly).
I have mixed feelings about all the Catholic imagery and some insinuated religion-snubbing plus fictionally calling to the Lord (although in-character it wasn't done vainly) -- but otherwise this was superb. (It's been awhile since I started it, so if there's something else I should reprove, I've forgotten.) So much of the ending scene stuff was *excellent* -- like the all-black scenes, yes!!
I retract what I said about wanting a better ending. You merely have to put forth more effort for more reward. Great stuff -- and personally, I really really enjoyed that "more reward." $:^ ]
Btw, major kudos for making a gripping horror game with not a single profanity that I recall! (It *can* be done!) Yet more kudos for an utterly demented interactive introduction -- what in the world! $:^ b "But, but, I don't wanna ~ " heheheh awesome -- especially in retrospect, with the context of mysterious affliction and all that. Sound and music were amazing, especially during one of *the* creepiest sequence of events in the whole chapter. Thank you for a great game. $:^ ]
Overall, excellent, but some of the "reasons" you can't do things don't seem fully thought-out, especially compared to what you can do seemingly without question, and some of the "puzzles" felt barely strung together without motivation. In short, the only real minus was the "magic game logic" it suffered from here and there. However, the few little gotcha moments and overall atmosphere were splendid! 4 stars, "Really liked it." $:^ ]
(I first played this several years ago.) I want to say I "Loved it" (5 stars) except for the fact that such a short game has as much sexual reference and off-color language as it does -- made even worse by the context of children (the characters) hearing it, reading it, and even saying some of it. Beyond that, I agree with the general praiseworthiness of this game; I can't help but say I "Really liked it" (4 stars). Quite fun! $:^ ]
