My housemate is playing this game in the dark. He is up to level 132. He is starting to grow a beard. I tell him all the levels are the same now. He is trying to reach the end. I am worried about him.
Cool game. Note that you should only build your windows facing north if you live in the southern hemisphere.. (in case anyone takes the solar thermal building advice from the end song) i.e. windows should face towards the equator.
I dropped off the bottom of the screen on level 2 during the survival stage and could not get back into the game area. Nothing could shoot me there and I survived the remaining 10 seconds with all my health. BUt then I was stuck forever. I'll post this as a bug report too.
I didn't know if I was hitting the boss at all until he fell, or if it just took one well aimed shot.. In which case I fluked it. Would be good to get some feedback as you're fighting him.
Game completed. Level 10 hard. Had to sleep on it and magically could do it the next day (maybe the badge helped). It's a different challenge to "real" programming -- unless you're optimising for a CPU with a tiny instruction cache. Also would be nice if it did a "trace" by highlighting which instruction it was up to.
Sure, recent evidence shows that some grasses coexisted with dinosaurs.. But really, is that an excuse to have no cycads? And before you say "Disney's Leaping Cretaceous Lemurs!" Remember that everyone loves cycads!
But despite the lack of cycads, it's one of the best games to appear on Kongregate in a long time.

any game which features unicorn fish gets an extra star from me... but the game play is pretty crappy.. and you get points for a fish even when it's hidden by another one.. pretty lame.. and there aren't enough fish, in variety or number.
pretty lame game.. this seems more like a skeletonal beginning, rather than a complete game. nothing compelling.. the story is practically non-existent.. no save.. if i hadn't read that it was using procedurally generated maps then i would have thought the level designer was on crack. overall, very poor.. perhaps a good start for something with more substance.. a game in this genre takes a lot more work than was put into this game.
Fun game that concentrates on good game play over good story or usability.
I feel guilty giving it 5 stars with all of its usability bugs and annoyances (and lack of Kongregate high scores).
I like a game where you take away something new that you have learnt, that you will always remember and apply to your life. And I have learnt to NEVER walk towards an exploding penguin.
