I'm surprised something as simple and silly as this can be easily labeled a skill based game. It's nothing like poker, and it's not easy to understand how it ever could be.
I don't hear any music or sound effects, although I don't personally think they are too important in games it does make a big first impression. Most of the improvements can be made to the menu in which the text could be larger and more stylish. I personally think the functionality is good enough to warrant many revisits, but if you make these changes it could be more eye catching and pleasurable.
This is still actually an alpha build, which is why there isnt any music, as to the menu i will try to get that fixed as soon as possible :) Just have to make out a concept first.
Contrary to popular opinion here I quite like the concept and execution. There's a couple of potential improvement points, such as adding hp items and fixing some of the red monster platform movements. If you fire while jumping you end up jumping very high and the game becomes a point scavenger. I don't really know why a 5 min timer is really necessary.
You understood the trick to advance in early levels. The fact that other people didn't is one of the flaws of this game's design. I'll have find a way to make it more obvious.
The 5 minutes is a way to restrain the time in which you can reach the high score. I might change that.
Thanks for the comment.
This game is amazing. Not only does it have advanced jumping and running mechanics, but it also feels like a proper gaming experience. It excites me to know that you could make a bigger and more cohesive project.
I am going to find this memorable. I can tell my kids that I once played a game where you negotiate a kettle through a grass maze looking for sugar cubes. I will also tell me them that the best part was how I spent most of the game bouncing the teapot off the hedges.
Because there is no proper handling mechanics, all I need to do is touch up gently while moving around. However as a game I am enjoying it. Time limit touches my adrenaline glands.
There are some seriously good effects here. Yes it's all pixels, but the animation and frame rates are amazing, and complimented well with the accompanying sound effects.
The idea is there, but without animated explosions and more originality it feels like a low quality version of a generic shooter. The shot impact audio is also very distasteful.
I like what you have done. It feels like something a professional company would make in early 90's. I love the atmospheric music in addition to the characterisation and mood. However for me the lack of degree freedom for firing arrows makes aiming uninspiring, and movement is a little shallow.
