The 3d is nice, and I like being able to turn the screen….however, I think one major fault is that you can never tell if you are “in line” with a series of parts or blocks to jump too when you have to double jump. It sucks when you think you are lined up, jump, and then realize that you should have moved one extra square before pressing A/D. It would be really nice to know if you are aligned or not…maybe part of the “fun/challenge” is lining up, but starting over from the beginning is just too punishing.I think it would be a lot better if either a) there was a way to tell when you are in line, or b) your falls restart you where you jumped (which still leaves an issue when you land on a ground and have to retrack). Contrary to the previous poster I think the A/D screen switching is unique and interesting. I think it would be better though as a Platformer/Puzzle game…platform games, to me, are fast paced (this is slow) and full of action (shooting enemies, jumping out of the way, etc)….this game is mostly jumping around and dodging the few enemies you find (given I didn’t finish it so maybe it gets more action-y…if this is the case, it should be action right off the bat, not on level 5.) The zoom feature doenst really zoom out enough to let you see enough of the area to be useful…and it is a pain zooming out before every jump. I think you should get rid of the zoom feature and instead have a map in the corner that tracks where you have been and a small amount of the level “ahead” of the player. This way you can keep the secret areas. Interesting concept…a bit boring and slow to be a platformer, I think…like I said, a puzzle/platformer would work really well with your system, I think (having to access areas by using A/D, pressing switches, etc.) show less |
