sargent179: For me the game's fun comes from creating armies, trying out new setups and such, not the grinding.
In the end, the game is about PvP, and in PvP *skill* should matter. I want everyone to have an equal playing field with the same tools so the best may prevail. Not the one who clicked the most buttons and has the most time to waste.
Furthermore, macro's are completely legitimate. No hacking, or changing the code of the game in any way.

5 euro's to get access to the premium content is just ridiculous for these simple games. If it was cheaper I would have bought a lot more premium upgrades but Kongregate seems to like the 5 euro model. Too bad
Best combo: Dryad Magus. Slowing Vines + Inferno = Dead enemies.
Plus using magic and tactics is a lot more fun than just hitting enemies over the head all the time.
And with an item with Sanctify so you can stand toe to toe in a healing circle on the ground while your enemies stand in an inferno.
A lot of people complaining about the locked races and IMO rightfully so - to complain that is.
Locked content and links/advertisements to another site is understandable but 3 races is too much of the game. In games like Gemcraft it's much better done where the bonus is rather small and not neccecary for every playstyle.
Yes, a 1/5 vote ain't a fair representation for the game, but that's life for ya and next time hopefully developers won't anoy their fans in such a manner.
Personally I didn't really like the new '3d' environment. I thought the previous version had more of it's own style, better suited to flash games. (If I want an RPG with moving around I'll play Dragon Age or something)
Still, good job on the graphics. 5 stars, it's just not my cup of tea anymore.
This game is a clear 5/5 compared to most other games but there are still a lot of finetuning to do.
More quests, more strategy (beginning is hard sometimes but once you get started it's way too easy if you have a good setup and heroes), better balance. The items can use an overhaul; colorcode them to instantly see rare or comon items. I hardly ever bothered sorting through the new items.
And yes, it needs something more after you complete the campaign. Hardcore maps or at least an impossible badge otherwise there's no reason to keep going.
I don't know why some people are complaining about melee being too weak compared to magic. Melee is the strongest if you have the right setup.
Get a hero that has a Huscarl as advanced unit. It gets bezerk but more importantly: another added damage output on the third row. Put all the hero points into TACTICS meaning the experience needs are reduced a lot. That will make the units much more powerful than just upping the hero's damage bonus because the extra strength talent tree from the Huscarl raises it by a much higher percentage. (90% on the last upgrade alone)
The only other hero you need? To deal with the flying units of course. Get a hero with *wing shot* which raises their anti air damage by like 200-300%. For this hero you up their ranged skills which get modified along with the wingshot making the damage output quite insane.
These two units alone, mostly centered around melee will help you finish most quests with ease.
Great game, love the updates!
The ninja's are rediculous. Even if you hit them right at the beginning they can still prevent you from getting a Brilliant rating on some levels. Flawed game design imo.
The rest is great though. Could use a few more towers and enemies.
I'm aware of the 338% problems, that's why I said 188% specifically.
The beginning can be a bit harder though since you'll need to gear up 4 heavies but once you get going there's no stopping you.
Those Beholder bosses aren't a problem because they won't be able to instant kill you, while in the meantime you'll oneshot all his lackeys around him with the 3 warrior + cleric setup.

The Cleric adds survivability to the group. The 30% AoE blind is very good since the last 3 enemies faces you'll have to beat the good ol' fashioned way, without focus. (Just leave the last enemy to fill up your focus again for next hard battles)
The only stat you'll need to raise is endurance with perhaps a little (~fifty/fifty) intelligence for the Cleric.
Also: the only skills you need as a warrior are execute, the rest of the points should go in the Armor skill. you don't need any of the buffs or whatever.
Later on you'll get high power regen so you might as well use execute every round.
I've tried many combinations (Ranger with full intellect and Nature's Balm is really good as well) but the 3 warrior + 1 Cleric approach is really the best and safest one in my opinion.

Rogues with hide and sneak attack (+poison) are powerful indeed.
However in my opinion the strongest combination for 188% mode (Extreme difficulty + Hardcore) is:
- Warrior
- Warrior
- Warrior
- Cleric
Why? Execute, that's why :)
Really, equip your warriors with the best armor you can get. Normally they will be rather weak with shields and such, but execute doesn't care about damage, it kills percentage wise. Hard battles are almost instantly transformed from 6 vs 4 to 3 vs 4. You do the math.
