Question: is there a difference between the damage done by a medium laser and a heavy laser when the damage listed for both is the same (e.g. 1000)? I understand that the heavy laser will have a lower lvl for the same damage, meaning that the max potential at lvl 999 will be higher, but is that the only difference?
I really liked the first game and I really like this second version. However, I find that the pecking order needs to be explained a bit better, and also that the mechanism for changing the flock leader needs to work more smoothly. In order to see which bird I am trying to select for leadership, I need to keep the flock still as it is nigh impossible to see which one is selected otherwise. However, this meant that every time I wanted to select a leader, half my flock (and often the bird up for selection) would be wiped out by a plane....
I was very pleasantly surprised by this. I found the upgrade system to work very, very well.
My only other comments:
- Berserk didn't work with the hotkey for me (check did show that key was otherwise working fine)
- It was a bit easy if you grind a bit early on (I played a rogue and focused pretty much exclusively on speed)
I have a frustrating problem on the Insane challenge: I have armies in Alaska in the upper world, and cannot attack Anadyr N (Russia), because the mute buttons are over it. If I zoom in, I lose my selection of Alaska, meaning I can't select it to attack.
I noticed a similar problem on the Europe map, where you have to really zoom in to be able to select the north-east most part of Russia on the map. Can you not put the mute buttons elsewhere in the side bar?
This game has some serious issues! While I really like the concept, I noticed issues such as keys not working, e.g. the often advertised 'I' to go to the inventory. It doesn't work! Similarly, the 'E' to go into the shop doesn't work.
Another issue, as mentioned, is that mosters start an attack when you are near and running away before completion of the attack does nothing to avoid the damage.
Also, a little information would be a nice thing. What exactly is the difference between the bows, (in a bit of detail), why do the levels of the items in the shop change? What if I want to buy lower level things than the shop allows me to. There is no info on this.
Overall, great potential poorly worked out.. 3/5
JC96, there are arcane guardian levels at the end of each 'stage' that you can use to obtain the Arcane Explosion badge. You can do this a lot earlier than lvl 64.
Oh dear! I was kinda enjoying it until I got stuck. I thought I'd come back to it and since there's no save button, I assumed that it would automatically save my progress, but no. So unfortunately I would have to start from scatch... and well that's not happening. Also changes my rating significantly! 2/5
At first I thought this was a good enough game, but the fact that your level is determined by a boss-fight means that it is too linear. If you struggle to defeat a boss, there is virtually nothing you can do: the shop's inventory takes forever to reset and even then most of the time it's useless stuff.
I really wanted to like this game, but unfortunately the above problems mean I have grown bored of it in about an hour. 2/5
Really don't like this game. If it hadn't been for the card I would have stopped playing about 1 minute in. Luckily I managed to get the card on my second go. Thank the gaming gods for that.
Great game, love the music, the concept and, most of all, the fact you can continue your game after dying as often as you like. Without that feature it would have been far too hard, but now it is playably hard.
Final boss was a bit frustrating but in the end got him. Will have to pass on hard mode though!
I like the game overall but it really needs an option to quit a match if it is going badly. This is especially true for challenge 4, which, by the way, is sending my blood pressure through the roof! Gah!
