Most problems with controlling balls is that they sometimes move very fast and go off the screen and then it's hard to predict how fast they will be moving when they come back and also when they move fast it's harder to stop them. I'm not sure how to fix that, maybe make them go slower when they reach the edge of the screen? I think you could make the game less repetitive by designing some of the levels differently (maybe by adding some obstacles or different planets and changing the background) or introducing some kind of mechanics that would change the gameplay a little and use it on some of the levels. For example you could add some kind of bonuses that change behaviour of objects or the player's ship.
Well, I was planning to add upgrades but didn't have time, perhaps that would add enough variety. A ball can only move fast if you move to the other side of the screen than the ball is and have it fly towards you. To be honest, with 5 balls, I tend to only focus on a couple near me to do whatever job that needs doing, if there is one far away I just let it get on with what it's doing... Thanks for the input anyway, I'll hopefully be working on a remake of this which I'll have time to put everything into.
Some people have said that before as well, I'm not really sure how to fix this, as I don't have a problem with controling them, the physics is pretty simple, since they are attacted to your ship but retain their momentum, so it's like they are attracted gravitationally (you can get them to orbit you). I have thought about tweaking them a bit more, making the attraction stronger if the balls are closer to you, perhaps this might give players a feel that they are more in control of them. There is supposed to be an element of skill in controlling them however. Not sure how to change the repetitiveness, since every game I've ever played has the same repeating theme in it, even in randomly generated scenarios like this one. Anyway, thanks for the feedback, I'll see what I can do.
I love the story, it's very interesting! This is a really cool game and I would love to see a longer version after the jam. There is bug though, because "watch tv" option never works and probably because of that I could only see ending 1. This is definitely one of my favourite games from this jam though! How many endings are there?
Three. I'll fix the glitch with watch TV. Thanks for the positive, constructive feedback! I may make a longer version, but with all of the paths this was a fun and grueling challenge at the same time.
EDIT: Ending 3 is possible! You can play again, now.
Nice concept, but it's shame there isn't any bigger goal in this game, also the gameplay gets repetitive after some time, but you made this game in 3 hours and that's pretty cool!
Yeah, I'm a bit bummed about the lack of content, too, but between real life things and personal problems, I only had a short amount of time left before the contest ended. Thank you! :)
I like the simple graphics, but I'm not sure what to do in this game. The magnet doesn't seem to have any effect on enemies, how am I supposed to kill them? Also after a few restarts the game started to lag very badly.
Sorry. I kind of assumed everyone would eventually completely learn how to play the game themselves. I'll update the instructions. I'm pretty sure the reason your magnet isn't working is because you didn't let it charge (look in the updated instructions). As for the lag, I'll try to optomize it after the game jam is over. Thank you for your feedback.
Interesting idea for a gameplay, but there needs to be some challenge, because right now it's very easy. Maybe you could make it more interesting by making more complicated levels with more kongpanions and giving some of them different movement speed, maybe placing some obstacles. The interface is pretty bad, because when you finish the level you don't really know which one of two buttons to press.
Cool idea, but planets often go off the screen and it's hard to predict when they will come back and how fast they are moving. The size should reset when player resets the level.
Interesting mechanics, but the game gets repetitive after some time. The same with music and there is no way to turn it off. If you are planning to make an improved post jam version and add more features I'm sure it would be very cool.
Cool concept, playing with physics is nice and the game is polished. The only problem for me is that gameplay gets repetitive after a while and there is no clear goal. I think you could fix that by adding more features and maybe some additional challenges that would make the gameplay more interesting.
The world looks very nice. I like how everything appears when you get closer, how things get smaller when you jump. Fighting enemies by jumping on their heads is not bad, but for me it was very annoying, because I kept dying and each time I had to start over and because of that I didn't finish the game even though I wanted to know the story.
