I'll give my honest opinions. The art style is inconsistent. Most of the assets are good if a bit ... idk generic? Whatever, point is the main character usually looks like a middle school deviant art, while for example Bad Guy Trainer is much better. The other clash is the pixel combat sprites vs the enemies which are a single .png. Needs to be one or the other IMO. Other assets are good, although the load length vs game length made me think it was going to be longer. Turns out you already have lots of good assets! I didn't find any bugs but didn't really try too hard to break anything. Occasional rubber banding. Mechanics take a bit to get used to, and I occasionally forgot to push buttons at first and simply leaned back to see how things progressed, but once I got the hang of it I found the QTE for combat to not give much variation. Either I got a good or failed. Perhaps doing better could allow for higher critical chances?
Overall a 4/5 game, and would like to see more.
But in all seriousness, I have never played a game where the difficulty curve goes down. Once I got the flamethrower, I stopped dying a few times every level.
There are no other endings other than the "No Happy end". I confirmed this through a flash decompiler. + this so others don't feel compelled to play the game several times to find an ending that doesn't exist.
