Re: stage 14, I had success with earlier suggestions for Medic with a good magnum. It took until I had self-revive, and I think I had the 357 magnum.
At any rate, up to level 13 I was going in way under the recommended levels, and 14 needed quite a bit of experience before I could finish it.
Ahh, finally got the Impossible badge. Impossible ActIII, Paladin with a Stealthadin sort of build. Held onto the first upgrade point until I got the Restless Blade in the second screen, then Consecrated it. Heal, Sleep, and Judgement spells, with maxed Purity then Toughness. (Also got Fear, but didn't make much use of it.) Final battle with time elixer, a couple of heals, a powder bomb, and a summon scroll.
Finally managed 20 night. Full upgrades. I take the mana pool right off the bat, then go after the lighthouses, then finally the sacred stones needed to build the extra crypt then temple. Leaving the ships alone lets you get some more mana bottle drops, and the nearby towers dealt with the enemies reasonably well. Just save up mana for Terror on divers (rarely needed), ninjas (sometimes), and smugglers; and Meteor for iron guards. It's sometimes helpful to use polymorph scrolls against smugglers just before their death to prevent their cargo from appearing.
im tweaking the hard AI to find that sweet spot, no doubt my last update is a bit too much. i should have it fixed tonight.
