Hmm, that’s interesting. I haven’t gotten that error before. I’m thinking it’s a browser issue, are you using the latest Firefox?

Yeah, I guess that’s probably the reason. Hopefully they’ll fix it in the near future. Nothing much I can do about this, sorry.

Dec 12, 2016 6:44am I saw your thread wondering why your game’s rating is low and decided to give it a try. I’d like to say that I would give this game in the state it is right now a 1 or 2 rating, but I decided not to rate it because it would be unfair. A few comments: 1. The controls are really clunky. I’d like to say that I would give this game in the state it is right now a 1 or 2 rating, but I decided not to rate it because it would be unfair. A few comments: 1. The controls are really clunky. It’s hard to hit what you’re aiming at. Moving around is painful. We’re in 2016, I don’t dig the 1980s control scheme. 2. The enemies take too long to die. It’s a bad design practice, it only serves to waste player’s time. 3. The first few enemies are not enemies at all. They don’t threaten you. It’s not satisfying to kill them. 4. The game’s pace is really slow. It took me more time to beat the first few levels than I thought it was worth. 5. The second enemy type is a good first step, but it’s way too mechanical. It also takes forever to kill. 6. After beating the first wave you’re presented to an upgrade screen, yet you don’t have enough money to buy anything from it. It’s frustrating. 7. The upgrade screen is way too complex, there’s way too much thing to read and to make sense of. Also the text is way too small. You should be concise on what to show players, especially when a good part of the info is not needed to play the game. 8. Also there’s no indication of what’s available to buy, you have to hunt down in the description, which is tedious. 9. I bought a shotgun but I couldn’t find a way to equip it. I tried reading the instructions which didn’t help, and after that I tried every key to no avail. 10. I noticed that enemies disappear if they hit you. Not only you take away health, but you penalize the player by negating them the kill money because of a minor mistake? At this point I decided to stop playing the game. I apologize if it may seem way too soon, but I didn’t find it enticing enough to warrant play more than that. I hope this criticism helps you in some way to making the game better, because it does look like it could have great potential. show less

I agree that the Upgrade Shop is too complex, a lot of people have been complaining about it. I’m working on a mini update that might make it a bit more simpler but at this point, it’s basically too late to redesign the whole thing. Game does start off slow but it will pick up after several minutes or so, but I guess people losing interest should be my main priorities next time. What I get from your response is that I should work more on the design of my games. Thanks for all these advices, it will definitely help when I’m designing future games. :) show less |
