Tips for anyone aiming for the impossible badge:
1) Aim to survive, not to get gems. If you live long enough, you'll get 500k just by going for the easy gems. Don't go for gems or powerups you're not sure you can get. Some paths are almost impossible to survive. Try to stay near the top of the screen (but don't go offscreen upwards or you might get knocked back down to your death by an unseen enemy).
2) Be decisive. Don't just make the right choice about what route to take, but make it quickly and stick with it even if you're wrong. Delaying can cost you the run, and switching - even if you switch to the better path - can lead to another death.
3) Save your powerups until you really need them. It can be tempting to kill enemies because they're going to hit you, or stop time to go for a white gem, but powerups can be lifesavers. Try to avoid using them unless you're in danger of dying.
4) Learn the different segments of the tower and plan for them. Be aware that enemy spawns can vary.
No, no. The ultimate ship is when you fill the screen with lasers. Speed and magnet modules are nice, but what you need to do is just add more lasers. Got 20 lasers? Add more lasers.
I've found that the key to getting the Impossible badge on this game isn't l33t platforming skills, it's having the right mindset and decision-making abilities. You have to believe that it's more important to survive than to get all the gems - I'd actually discourage completionism just because it'll get you a little behind on the screen. Always, ALWAYS make survival your first priority. I couldn't get far past floor 50 without this, and with this I got past floor 100 with over 500,000 score.
So is the reason why each fast food branch only has one employee that he always has to run off and start another before he's done staffing the last one?
@Kael: Thanks for clearing that up for me. :) My computer is a little odd (hence my misreading of qazzaq's name), and the links don't work for me, but I'll trust your judgement as the second person who's corrected me.
@gazzag123: That's not it. I realize that some art is taken with permission. However, there's still some which I recognize from other sources (the game Spore for one) and I very much doubt that the makers of this game would be able to obtain permission from certain people. There's also no credit to the artists. If the images were taken with permission it'd be okay, but without permission it's a little discourteous.
This is a genuinely amazing game, and - honestly - the only CCG I've ever had the patience for. The only problem with it is that some of the card images are stolen from other games. I only recognize a few, but it's still a little off-putting. 5/5 anyway, but it'd be really good if those images could be swapped out for original ones.
...I had epic battle music playing. While I was stuck in a constant retreat loop due to the 'Go' button appearing when I clicked the 'Retreat' button. Pure awesome. 6/5
It's a bit too easy to get lost, and a bit too hard to figure out where you're supposed to be. Also, the first boss is quite tricky to figure out what the sign means, but very easy once you realize it (it comes down to just reflexes). This is good overall, but it does have flaws that need ironing out.
