Good game. :-) To pause, just click the "Menu" button at the top.

Decent effort, but needs more content -- more to do. There are only 4 artifacts and I had them all within hours of starting.

Decent start to a game, but needs some more "there" there. After a few hours there's nothing left to achieve except more levels of the same things.

Maybe there's more to it later, but after the first 3 or 4 songs I don't see very much for the player (me) to do. 3/5 for a pretty face and a cute idea but boring actual play.

OK, I've figured out that the "next veteran bonus power" is simply the numbers above it, added up. That number is "maxable" by raising the levels of my equipped items, which raises the "item level" (a very misleading term as used here, since in any other game I've played, "item level" generally refers to the level of items FOUND, not the average level of items EQUIPPED). That "item level" is the one component of "next veteran bonus power" which I can control within a "career" (or whatever it is that we are doing prior to "retiring", each time). And I've figured out that that "next veteran bonus power" gets added to the specified item's "square" next to the item's icon on the left side of the inventory screen. So far so good. Now... WHAT DOES THAT NUMBER DO??? I can't detect ANY effect whatsoever, so far. I have all the squares populated by numbers, and I can raise those numbers... but what is the EFFECT?!?

Thanks for the reply, dev. :-) I am still unclear on 2 things, hopefully the last 2! First, I equipped several items to check if they received any bonus and they didn't -- at least, not that I saw. Should the item mouseover be showing enhanced damage (and other??) stats once I equip the item? It doesn't. Second, can you please explain the bonuses listed on the veteran page? Vet ranks = # of retirements, right? The others are a total mystery to me.

lietv: Can you elaborate? (I wish this was explained clearly and fully someplace instead of everyone posting very terse comments.)

branden23: you can overwrite the number in the monster level entry blank.

OK, we're almost to an actual definition now. What stat(s) is it that is/are boosted by this percentage? My "head" slot has a 30 next to it, so I take it that that is 30% boost which will get applied (at next retirement) to... what? I have read the veteran retirement page and it still does not make sense to me. The bonuses listed on the left on that page are not explained. (Am I the only one who just finds this whole veteran bonus thing super confusing??)

Hello. Sorry that I have not responded to this sooner. The percentage next to your "head" is a boost to ANY item that you equip in the "head" slot. So if your head item has 100 damage, and the bonus percentage next to it says 30, than it will change the damage on the helm to 130 (130% of its normal damage).

What does this mean? "When you retire, one of your item slots will gain said [Veteran] bonus." I have no idea what that means. The bonus is a number. What does it mean that a slot gains a number? (Thanks for all the work you are putting into this; I keep asking because I like the game!)

Pretty cool game. A complaint: some locations for building are obscured by stuff in the UI.

Good grief! A full-length batch of legalese just to play a game I've been playing for a year? >:-(

OK, I finally understand the 3 levels shown. (Phew!) Next question: what is the number in the box next to each equipped item? It has no mouseover hint and it isn't clickable. What does it do? I'm guessing this is the "veteran level"??

Developer Reply

That number is your "Veteran Bonus". When you retire, one of your item slots will gain said bonus.

Thanks for the replies about the types of levels. I noticed on my latest reload that the entry screen shows "skill level" equal to the level shown next to the sound icons at the bottom, so I guess that's what that one is.

Could you clarify what the levels are, shown on the screen? Top left, next to the char class avatar, is supposedly item level, right? But every item I find is always the level in the middle right (the one I can set manually). That middle right one seems to be monster level, since the monsters get more HP when I raise it. I think the bottom level (to the right of the sound icons) is my char level, right? It is advancing INCREDIBLY slowly now. I'm level 70 and need level 700 to retire. At present rate that will take weeks. I've set my monster (or item?) level to 100 above the top left (supposedly item, but really ???) level and am still going like frozen molasses.

Good gameplay. Some good suggestions already made. Game needs more somehow. I'd like to see more/spendier upgrades on the first upgrade screen; I had all of those purchased long before I finished the game.

I'm on level 178 and I need to get to 210 for my depot quest. There's nothing else for me to do right now but wait for the levels I need. At the current pace, I get about 1/100000th of the exp I need for level 179 every second, so it will take me about 27 more hours to reach level 179. Every level is slower than the last, so I can only anticipate that it will take me weeks to get to 210. This is not an acceptable pace!

This is a pretty cool-looking game, but the inability to see the whole battlefield is a big minus.

I pretty much hate every one of the minigames in this thing. The arcade and the stadium are no fun at all. The stadium makes no sense to me; I can't see what's coming up, so I don't know when to jump. The arcade games are all tedious except Mindsweeper, but even that gets old after a while. I get tired of playing it before I run out of time/moves. I like most of the rest of the game though.
