Having just come out of a discrete math course, I was thinking, "I can SO use set theory to explain that an infinite set does not contain all numbers..." and then he did it! So much happiness! I love the game.
That was a good game. It's been a long time since I've played one that made me feel like that. I just want to thank you for making it. The story? Brilliant. The atmosphere? Fantastic. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Well, it's a pretty good game. I won in 15 battles. It took me a bit of time to get the hang of it, but eventually I did. It does seem a bit complex, though maybe that's the point. The elements didn't always match up with the charm colours though, that made it quite confusing.
I liked the game, but I can't tell whether I actually won or not, and that really wrecks it a bit. It looked like a good concept, but... you might want to be a bit less ambiguous than that. The final words looked like "But it was already too late... the end"
Also, you definitely want to tighten up the controls a bit. It felt like there was a bit of a lag between what I did and what happened. Take these into account, and I'm sure you can turn it into an excellent game. Good luck, and I hope to see more from you soon :)
Alright, here's my suggestion. If you want to load a game, you should go to level selection. Not straight to the level after the one you last played. That way you can leave, come back, and pick up wherever you want. I'll make more suggestions later after I've played more.
I don't think it's that bad, and it's certainly better than a number of games of its variety that I've seen, but it is a fairly one trick game, the upper bound doesn't work, and you randomly generated the black holes, didn't you? That sometimes leads to annoying situations with no way out. So, don't take my 2/5 personally, just remember that I have very high standards.
4/5 for good gameplay mechanic and fairly nice execution. What kept you from full marks was how even with quality on low on a very good computer there was that occasional lag that completely destroyed my timing, making the later levels nearly impossible. I know they're supposed to be hard, but I have a notion that "hard on the processor" wasn't supposed to be part of that.
Cut it down somewhere so that it runs faster, and then maybe I'll upgrade the rating. Still, good work.
