Joybits, clearly everyone has made the decision for themselves, this comments section is absolutely riddled with people telling you that your pay model is obnoxious. Thanks for being responsive, but I'm done. I've said my piece. Best of luck to you.
Okay, thank you for your time, anyway. But you also should understand, that only angry players writes comments in general, because they want some changes, but those players who liked the game writes comments much more rarely...
Joybits, not a fantasy. It says it at the top of the page: "This game is in Beta mode. Your progress might be lost." Also, you failed to address the actual point - the trend of charging users for games that aren't finished is gross and bad. Stop it.
It is a normal process for Kong and we don't abuse any rules. It is just your opinion, we understood it but we don't agree with it. Let us deal with payers directly. If they want to pay - we will give them such opportunity. There is no need to protect someone who even don't ask for this imaginary protection. You don't want to pay - that's totally ok, we don't force you, but there is no need to decide for others, they have their own heads on shoulders.
Joybits, when you asked how you can be sure it's worthy of asking for money without giving it a beta go, that's disingenuous. You're asking people to pay money for the beta experience, when their progress could be wiped out at any time. I'm not saying you shouldn't ask for money (you've been lambasted for that plenty already). I'm just saying you should never take money from people if you're truly in the beta stages of your game. If it's ready for the general public, it's not in beta anymore. If it's not ready, you shouldn't ask for money. It's really pretty simple.
Why you think we are going to wipe someone's progress? It is just your fantasy. We will take care about keeping all players' progress safe while going live from beta. Ok, I understood your position, but it is just wrong. You can ask the Kong's team opinion on this point. But thanks for your thoughts anyway, any feedback is useful.
I enjoy this game, but it says it's still in beta mode. I have a pretty strong angry feeling when I see games still in beta ask you for money. You don't get to have it both ways - you can't ask people to pay for an unfinished game.
But how can we make sure if the game deserves the money without asking it from players? Now we received a great feedback from players (tank you!), made a lot of major changes and almost ready for going live. Stay tuned and have fun =)
