Just so everyone knows, the reason the game costs money to play is that Edgebee made it into an MMO. Because they want player interaction, they had to set up a server which the game would contact. Servers cost money to run, however, and so in order to keep it running they need to be able to at least break even. That said, the moneygrubbing present in this game seems a little excessive, so it's not entirely excused as far as I'm concerned.
The problem could be solved by there being a 1p mode, therefore eliminating the need of a server and eliminating Edgebee's upkeep costs. The problem cannot be solved by this being a pay-one-time game, though, because server upkeep is a constant thing. Just thought y'all should know how this works.
Does anyone else find the timing of this game amusing considering Egypt's current internet occupancy status (nil) and the fact that this is probably their current means of communication?
To those who keep complaining there's no "end combo" button, there is. It's to the left of the combo bar while the combo bar is active. It's called "Manual Timeout"
Das didn't come up with the poetic end thing =P at the end of the game when the world is cracking up, the word "deception" is scrambled a few times, and "poeticend" is the last one.
A surprisingly boring game. I only played as far as I did (upt o ship level 19) to see the final animation for my shooting. It was a little disappointing. THe second-to-last level looked cooler.
This is supposedly an Action-RPG... correct me if I'm mistaken, but this game has absolutely no human element whatsoever. So... am I role-playing as a spaceship that shoots laser beams with no background whatsoever?
An extension of what Curdor said, this games, when jumping w/ rockets, seems to stop any music going on your web-browser at the moment. I'm listening to last.fm and those songs are stopping as well as Curdor's NG Audio Portal.
Those of you claiming the secret character was the Fancy Pants man, please see your eye doctor and then the Shift developer and then Brad Borne, in that order. (or at leasy eye doctor first) as the last two will confirm the secret character is, indeed, Mel Gibson.
I find it amusing, all those that claim to be programmers, that even if you WERE a programmer, those skills wouldn't help you. This game isn't programming the basic functions, it's a puzzle about what order to use the already set movements in. A programmer would have just as much trouble with this as anyone else. Turn off your egos--no one will worship you for faking being a programmer.
@ Jaywalker.
Don't rate a game because you ASSUME it's a "clone" Because guess what? The whole 1v1 fighting thing has been a common theme for AGES. Mortal Kombat, for example? Rate a game for the game itself, not others.
I kind of like the cutscenes. The speech is a little slow, and the motions are choppy, but hey, we're not paying for the game so if you want movie-quality, go to a game store.
Always press "quit game" before exiting, it always saves as long as you do that, at least for me.
I'm a man that appreciates a good action game now and then. I love strategy games, and puzzles are another one of my favorites. I like complicated things, but in the end, isn't simplicity just one of the most beautiful things there is? To previous posters: this game isn't supposed to be hard. It's relaxing and soothing. Simple gameplay, with a beautiful song to accompany it, this game doens't need any more than it already is. Wonderful, truly wonderful. 5/5
This is the first time on the site that I have dreaded playing a game just to get the card or award attached. I have to say I'm severely disappointed in whoever chose this to be the sponsored game. Controls are uncooperative, scrolling takes too long and the screen shows too little at once, gameplay is monotonous and slow, overall it was a very frustrating experience for me.
