The game would be good if it would actually WORK. Single-player training is fine but I can't seem to connect to 3 out of 4 normal games - managed to get into two out of at least 10 attempts, in all other cases after game starts all I see is map for 15 seconds (no ships, shield gens, whatever else) and then I lose connection. And don't tell me I have ISP issues since ALL other online games work just fine with pings not exceeding 50 ms in Europe, 150 ms to US
Great... I bought premium access few days ago, kept the sparks (along with other good stuff for future use) in the third bag that I had and today I just found that ALL my bags are gone and replaced with default equipment... WTF?!?
An example of how NOT to code a game: disconnects, freezes, very laggy response (caused by bad UI programming) and now a rollback that removed 90% of my ships, many of my building upgrades but resources/items did not get rolled back. On top of that the game balance is all borked - new players will never catch up to old guys with the building/research times as they are. That's a 1 star there
OK... game itself is great (I don't care if it's a copy of a RL game or not), nicely made graphics, a bit of laugh here and there.
But I'm ranking it at 1/5.
Why? Because the computer cheats. Period. It is statistically NOT possible to get 3 free rolls on first roll in a row and negate a 4 thousand point difference. And I saw the computer get such "insanely lucky shots" twice so far. Sorry, I don't buy the blog post about random stuff. Author may show the code but noone can verify if what is inside this compiled game is actually that code... or something else.
