Well, I have a bug where I can't use any powers that require energy. It screws the game up pretty badly. I enjoyed it while it works, but from other comments, it seems like it's pretty bugged. I'll rate it higher when it gets fixed.
This game is OK, but like a whole lot of other people have said, it really needs to be made harder. I only failed a few missions, and most had success rates >90. Attacks also presented little problem after I got railguns, and after a few levels I managed to have more cash than I'd ever need.
The game's objective needs to be made a little clearer too. I wasn't sure if blowing up the earth was the only way to win or if there was some way to damage territories enough to take over the world.
I think if this game were made tougher, it could be absolutely amazing, as already the production values are great and the gameplay fun, but there's not much of a challenge to it. I'd also like it a little longer, maybe a few more tech levels or something, but that's just nitpicking.
I was enjoying this game until the air-only stage, but I've played that about 5 times, with everything I could have at level 21 fully upgraded, and the difference between life counts at the start pretty much means I can't actually win. 1/5 for a gamebreaking level like that. I realize that's harsh, but an unbeatable level is an incredibly serious flaw
There appears to be a glitch on the final boss-he threw a spear and then I got stuck, couldn't move, attack, or be damaged. Pretty much game over. Pretty annoying.
A good example of good concept, bad execution. I like the idea of absorbing powers and using them, and the core mechanic is decently implemented, but there's a lot there that isn't. There seem to be more than a few bugs, most noticeably one where shots disappear. On top of that, the bosses are just annoying, particularly the 2nd one. Am I honestly supposed to be able to get through this game on 15 lives? I don't really see how I could possibly not lose that many on him.
This was definitely a good game, and I liked the fighting, but there were a few problems I saw with it:
1) Some abilities seemed pointless to upgrade, in particular the spells, unless I'm missing something. It seemed like putting points into things like magic bolt (even though I used it a ton) would've been a waste because of the very minor improvement. Maybe if it had improved the % of my magic it did in damage rather than just the static bonus it would've been better.
2) It was a bit on the short side. I mean, I understand and all, but a few more levels would've been nice.
Really, though, overall good game.
This is an incredibly well designed game. I love how it manages to do everything without text and with such simple controls, yet be very complex at the same time. I also like how it doesn't explain what the different areas you get after killing a circle do, you just have to experiment and figure them out for yourself (which is actually a little tricky for some). Overall, I think this is pretty much genius and one of the best games on Kongregate, really a triumph of good game design.
Needless to say, 5/5
Pretty good game in my opinion. I thought combos were especially cool, the only problem being that it was hard to get specific combos to fire, etc, since just upgrading ranges on towers, etc., didn't always work. Other than that, it was a lot of fun, and I liked the fact that it had multiple maps as well.
Loved this game. Granted, it might not be particularly long, or incredibly difficult, but it was very well designed, and the graphics were awesome. I really love this style, was very smooth and polished.
I liked some of the gameplay, the graphical style was good and retro, and the music wasn't bad. But, it's really hard to tell when you're dying, and the game itself is pretty darn tough. I also don't really like having to go back all the way to level 1 when you lose on 15, especially since it takes so long to get back.
