Thanks for your comment, I will see what I can do about sound.
In arcade, all difficulty modes have 20 maps. I wanted to create a game which each round is a challenge to do the high score.
Not bad at all, Keybol! I like the idea, pretty good controls and just the right level of difficulty, in my opinion. Though I'm only up to level 18 at the moment so things might get a bit more severe yet. I'm missing a few stars so I can't get beyond level 20 for now, but I might come back and try for the full 60 later to open up the debug levels. Could you allow for players to press space to start the next level at the level end screen? This seems standard on most games these days and it's conspicuous by its absence. Also, having to click on the screen to advance text gets a bit annoying, could you also have space work as well? The story feels a bit superfluous though. All in all: 4/5
As others have mentioned, I too found that the final level spawns no enemies. Then deliberately dying results in the usual death/retry screen but with all the buttons inactive. Refreshing the page solves the problem. But then after all that, finishing the game results in no kind of recognition or ending whatsoever. In addition, I've had a lag issue throughout the entirety of the game, which is possibly in part due to a memory leak of some description as refreshing the page temporarily improves it, but *some* lag persists. Despite all this and the many other issues discussed in the comments there must be something compelling about this game because I took the time to complete it. Fixing the issues could result in a pretty good game but right now it's a 3/5.
This is the sort of the game I would play to the end. However, the timer feels forced. Personally, I would prefer a "get to the next screen until you get to the end" sort of style, rather than having a timer. Collecting coins is classical gameplay and players will intuitively do so, but the "get x coins in x seconds" idea doesn't seem to fit. Also, I'm back at screen 1 every time I get anywhere near the lava rather than actually falling in it. (I suppose that makes sense for a kid made of an ice cube though.) Jumping into the next screen from the highest block on screen 1 sends me back to the beginning again as well, which feels a bit odd. Anyway, other than that it's a good start and I've added you as a friend so I can keep up with what's new. Keep going!
Not bad at all. Having only control over aim and *not* power of each shot, makes for a slightly altered mechanic when compared to the other games in this genre, for example, Fragger. I missed being able to hit 'R' to restart the level though and was disappointed that the walkthrough didn't show how to get three stars on all levels. I feel like I've used the absolute minimum of shots on level 22 (Crazy Elevator) and yet can still only get two stars. The walkthrough is no help either as it gets only one star. Has anyone managed to get the full three?
I enjoyed playing this, but I wish the little dude would walk a bit faster. I eventually got to the last jelly bean after some frustrating circling. I'd seen it already, hovering above a red square with a face, but it was on the other side of a wall. It took me a while to locate it again but once I did I easily found how to get it. For anyone else struggling to get this same delinquent bean remember that *all is not as it seems*. (Possibly what one of the characters meant when he said there was a mystery to the tower.) Anyway, this comment is probably much longer than it needed to be so blah blah blah, 4/5, hoorah!
@AlexL92 You need to insert a light bulb into the socket just above the clue to the shapes. I tried to match the colours too, until I noticed that what looks like a small spotlight is actually a socket needing a bulb. Insert a bulb ( I can't remember which one.) This colours the shapes, you can solve it then.
Who else thought they were being a smart ass when they let the rock pass over their head right at the beginning of level 2-15? Yeah, it didn't quite work out did it.
