Dec 14, 2018 6:33am Think you could develop The Valley Rule into a “full” game ? Not enough cash ? Kickstarter or Indiegogo .

If I ever got enough money (I work at Los Banditos, so it’s highly doubtful), I was thinking of buying a bunch of fake purple crystal (or real if I get more than enough money although how I’d install all of the real stuff is daunting just to think about) and all the basics for a restaurant and making one that is basically set up to be as much like the inside of the whole Valley Rule caverns. I’d even have a sort of screen setup on the walls to have the girl be randomly walking, jumping, climbing and pushing blocks and stuff all around on the walls for the visual entertainment while people eat. Wouldn’t that be one heck of a bar section? Also, I would of course have that music playing in the background all the time. The setup I’m thinking of is: 1-A public dining section like any standard restaurant; 2-A section of sound proof walls around each table in a section of a bunch of individual, private booths upon reservation or if available with an option to play or mute the music and/or waterfall/water flow sounds and volume control and movable walls to convert back and forth private booths to public tables and vice versa; 3-A standard bar with the basics for alcohol; 4-A non alcoholic bar, although I’d have to research how that would go together to be. Whatcha think? The Valley Rule: the restaurant. Dark, but in the neat way it is in the game with that serene, sparkly, entrancing music; you’re practically dining in the Valley Rule crystalline cavern. Proper royalties of course going to you and everyone in the game’s credits as makers of whatever they made for the game. With some advertising here on Kongregate and on T.V. do you think it could be feasible and do well enough? Positive or negative, I encourage anyone and everyone’s reply as to yes or no to the idea and whether you think it would work. Feb 22, 2015 3:06am I might have already contacted you about his on your hope page. I’m Kyle and I am DYING to get an mp3 file of the background music that plays in The Valley Rule. If you can make an mp3 of the music, that would be so cool, especially if it repeats at least 3 times for the track since this is the kind of music people like to veg out to, know what I mean? Repeating 5 times would be even cooler, but I don’t want to sound greedy. So please, I can find it literally nowhere. If you decide to, you can respond back to me here at Kongregate to give me a download link or at rifferiss@gmail.com if you just want to email the mp3. show less

Jul 27, 2014 1:32am I love the atmosphere in The Valley Rule and A Ktty Dream, they are very peaceful but still challenging games, I just find it sad that this seems to be all in these games, they are very small and I have no idea what I am actually doing. Kitty apparently wants to wake up and the at least Kitty-like girl in The Valley Rule apparently wants to leave the valley, but is that all? What is with Kitties dream? What is the meaning of the secrets(Changing a number from 0 to 3? Really?) Why is that girl in the valley in the first place? Why is it called the Valley Rule at all? The Dream and the Valley are such mysterious and beautiful places that they litterally yell “There is so much more! You have seen nothing!” but no! All you see is all there is, it feels so unfinished. Perhaps that’s because both of these games were made with a fixed time limit, which makes me wonder, what a real and complete project without time limitations by you would look like… It kind of reminds me of Kajenx’s William and Sly. show less

Jul 24, 2014 5:40pm Thanks for The Valley Rule! The walljump + air jump mechanic you used is the best (in some games this aspect is barely polished), and was a very relaxing experience.

Jul 7, 2014 12:21pm I think all us shouters here would agree that we would love to see a sequel to “The Valley Rule.”

Jul 7, 2014 4:35am The Valley Rule suffers from ‘sticky’ keys because you used arrow keys for movement and also when trying to do the ridiculous wall-climb for the last tablet it seems to fail to recognise the jump key. Making it damn near impossible. Requiring split-second timing with buggy inputs is just bad design.

Jun 19, 2014 9:02am I love metroidvania platformers, and the two you’ve just released are among the best I’ve played. I’m very excited to see what other work you release/see these games expanded (especially The Valley Rule), because your games are spectacular! Thank you for making these!
