Looking good so far. A few buggy things: Some whales spawn higher than you can actually move on the screen. As someone else pointed out, the collision detection doesn't always work. Just to point out (maybe it's planned), you broke the typical standard of "things move right to left" (Super R-Type style), so maybe you wanna swap that. It would actually map better with your introduction screen "You", "Enemy" too, rather than flipping them when the game starts.
For suggestions, maybe you should add some power ups to either slow it down, or grab a temporary spear to stab the whales and plow right through em. :)
Thanks for the feedback!
As several of you pointed out, there is no "victory" condition when the troll or your party is defeated, so the game loops endlessly. Thanks for pointing it out.
@EatMyPossum: heh, I was waiting for someone to catch that. It used to be a sword and the text wasn't updated. Our fellow red block man is a lumberjack of sorts. The storyline (when added) will help.
@Grossmesser: Good call on the stacking health bars, I'll see what it takes to implement that.
It would be nice to have some hotkey (spacebar?) on the keyboard to acknowledge the OK box on the popups. A lot of mouse movement between the playing field and the OK box.
@Alex: Thanks for the bug report. I wasn't planning on allowing your units to revive between Trials, but I may consider it. I don't want to trivialize the whole Encounter... but I will admit the Trials themselves need tuned and improved. The "time left" feature, aka "Ability Cooldown" is on my list of things to do.
Thanks!
Here's some constructive feedback:
-- Lose the "realistic" background and replace it with layers of cell/toon shaded forest.
-- Clean-up the rabbit's sprite and/or add some animation to it.
-- Make the rabbits pop up and disappear after a certain amount of time to make it a bit more challenging (ever play Point Blank in an arcade?)
-- Spawn more than 1 rabbit at a time, increase the number of rabbits that spawn as time progresses or add new challenges
-- Red/Blue on Green background text is hard to read.
2/5 for game structure, but it needs a lot of work.
Need to fix the sound after you finish all levels. The background music is still playing and the other music sounds obnoxiuos (can't tell it's all jumbled).
