Why is the game lying to me? I've got a popup in the lower right corner that says "Get free golden epic gear", however, if I click on the popup all I get is the option to pay real money. Is this an intentional scam or is it a bug/oversight? Seeing as it's clearly not free.
Art style looks good, gameplay seems like basic point&click, and the background music is good so far, BUT...
I don't know what's up, but this game is broken for me:
- I can't turn the sound off even if I wanted to. The Settings menu doesn't actually do anything.
- A lot of the menus aren't properly aligned, for example, if I want to examine the "Cliff Flowers" in the first screen, I only have 2 vertical pixels to click them, if I go too high the game thinks I want to access my items. Later on, when I try to examine an item near the bottom, the text goes below the bottom of my screen.
- Some of the dialogue is instantly skipped. I tried loading the game 5 times just to hear what the dragon has to say after his multiple "..." line, but that one line was skipped every time. I hoped it was just that line and I tried to push onwards, but very soon another line was skipped in a similar fashion.
That's when I gave up. I won't be rating this game for now.
After finally unlocking unlocking survival mode, I picked a spacious level and started building... Now I'm at wave 1800, with 4 mega-mega-towers, I wonder what happens first? I lose, or something crashes?
Wow... Pretty amazing little game.
First time around, I reached the last boss without the gun, but due to a bug I still won without killing it.
Second time, I beat it the way it's supposed to be done.
Third time, I tried walking down instead of up at the title screen...
Journal entry #42:
Beat the main story 30 in-game days ago, every upgrade, every room is the best one, still no sign of the amenity upgraded, but still no sign of the elusive hipster...
The upgrades could use a little more diversity, that's about my only complaint, I really love the voice acting, so sincere and everyday, not a typical superhero.
List of some bugs I've found
- Some display errors in the shop/inventory screen
- HUGE memory leak
- Starting a combo with 3 heal or shield will automatically end your turn
- In inventory/shop hp is always displayed as 20, no matter how much bonus from items you have, this is however fixed in battle.
Skills need a serious rebalance, with 4 points in Tesla aura, the damage and range is pathetic, whle a single point in slow-mo lets me dodge every bullet. Not a single boss posed any sort of threat, whereas the normal battles ranged randomly from "cakewalk" to "near impossible", the color scheme is cute and all, but yellow bullets, enemies, coins, explosions and guns just don't work in the long run, it's very difficult to see what is what. The items themselves are a joke, you'll always, ALWAYS want one vacuum and one thruster (both are cheap as dirt), no matter what you build, there's no real reason to increase damage, as all the better weapons vaporise everything they hit, and armor does nothing. That leaves you with 2 actually important slots for weapons. A good basic idea implemented badly. All in all, 3/5
Really love it, the art style, the setting, it's beautiful, game sure isn't bad either, however, for a game that relies this heavily on written text, the story and conversations felt somehow, cliché, not very well written overall.
I know this is impossible to fix in this game, and very hard to improve on, but really, it's the only flaw in my eyes
4/5
It's like a buy one get one free deal.
