To counter the 'fiery explosion instant death' (AKA Guillotine Blade) of the Far East Empire, remove your armor and helm. This will cause the ability to hit you for 0 damage as the more defense you have, the harder the ability hits you. I know removing all of your armor seems counter-productive, but it makes life so easy when fighting Far East.
...this game is pretty amazing. The Far East Empire supercrit ability is absolutely retarded, though. It needs to be balanced and brought in line with the main character's hitpoints. It's simply asinine that I get instakilled at this point in the game...
