The shop shows up with the icon having a circle around it and giving a description. When I walk up, the description changes to tell me to press space to access. When I press space, it makes a sound, but the shop does not open. This is occurring at the first shop in the game.
Massive bug. I played last night, came on to play today, and I'd lost all my research. There's also no delete save file, so it would be extra grindy to get that back. Ruined what was already only a moderately fun game.
This game is WAY too pay to win, there's very right and very wrong ways to play, and there's no way to restart the game. I gave it 1 star for these reasons.
I'm getting tired of this studio releasing what feels like the exact same game time and time again. There is some innovation to this one with the minigames, but I'm about to just start voting all their games a 1 until they do something other than a graphics reskin and call it a new game.
I don't have any severe issues with this game having the bugs since it is declared as being a beta/teaser at the moment. The huge issue I have is that it implies bad things in the future now that gamestop has bought kongregate. It really is unacceptable to give badges to a game in this state.
Scythereo, I'm suspicious that it's stolen because he stated that it's not stolen. In virtually all of the games that people didn't steal, they don't bother saying it's not stolen because they know they made it. Someone being that defensive in the description is a bad sign, and I honestly don't trust that it's not stolen.
DropkickMurphy, I currently am playing on a sheriff who is up to day 130 in normal mode now. Sheriffs can improve their damage very early on with the Doc holiday skill. A ranger can get the bow master skill. You can also upgrade your villa also allows you to up your damage. Yeah, you still are a little at the mercy of the game, but you can up the stats using reforge and use refresh inventory on mod day to get the mods you want. After I hit 150 in normal mode, I'm going for the impossible badge.
I don't think that the difficulty itself is the biggest problem, honestly. The problem is that casual mode isn't really much easier than the normal mode, and that makes ti so people don't have an option to play an easier game that they can win. On top of that, the early weapons aren't balanced well. Bow gun and shotgun are pretty much the only two weapons worth using at that phase. Work on the balance and make casual mode easier and it will be far better.
world records are kinda borked. I got 1.7 seconds on the first jet stage, and it got set as the world record. then the record changed to 2.3. Then I got 1.6, and someone stole the world record with a time of 4.15. Fix that and I'll keep playing.
I love rogue likes, but you still need a little work. For one, the traps can be a bit over the top. Another is the lack of customization outside of what the game happens to give you. It also could stand to be harder. Keep up the good work. I hope to see this grow even more.
A good game, but it could use a bit more complexity. Additionally, it would be nice if there was some form of warning about the boss spawn so he doesn't spawn on me and kill me. Maybe have him come on from the side of the screen or ghost before he spawns so you can get out of the way.
Collision detection needs work. If you run into the side of a platform, you can warp up on top of it. Also, if you click the text of the button rather than the button itself, it does not register. Fix some of those bugs and then move on to add more intricate features to distinguish the game.
For one, implementing levels and an upgrade system would be a good expansion of the concept. In later levels, you could add differing types of enemies with different AIs such as shooting or chasing the coin rather than the player. Upgrades could be things like slowing the foes or slowing their regen rate as well as a force push with a cool down that pushes a foe a distance that could also be upgraded. You also could have more than a single coin span and have them have various values with the higher value coins vanishing after spawning, the higher the value, the less time it exists. Just a few ideas off the top of my head.
Really enjoyed the game. I don't mind episodic game play, but I'd have preferred for the first installment to be a bit longer. Hopefully the 2nd will be a bit longer. 4/5 because it was over too quickly.
