Also the cards and coins don't stay on screen long enough for me to see them. And how to do I call up the cards to view them? They only pop up when I win them and I can't find them after that.
Wow this is a lot harder than it looked! Is it possible to get all the coins on all the levels? I really hope they say no otherwise I'm going to feel a little dim!!
I have to admit that whilst I love this game the names are the lamest part! And for the person who wants to sell gear you need to find a teleport scroll that takes you to the shop. There you can sell and buy some nice stuff!
Maybe I'm getting old but I do wish people would try to write properly when they make comments. 'Text speak' might be alright between friends but it does not make for clear communication on a public site like this one. Equally it would help if people making a point made sure their point makes sense - perhaps with some specific examples. Communication is an art and I do wish people would try harder.
Is there really any advantage hiring other heroes? My starting three have given me magic, melee and ranged units that seem more than up for the job. Are there missions where you need certain ones?
Yes!!!! Just got the Doomed Heroes badge. Didn't lose a life until level 36 then lost two characters, my summoned wargolem and nearly lost the other two. Very luckily was able to keep going and resurrected my conjurer (twice as the first time she was raised an arrow took her out before she could raise my warrior!), she then raised my warrior and after leaving only one enemy slowly rebuilt my team ready for the next round. Lots of fun!
In answer to the question of controlling your troops all the troops on your side have an awareness zone which is triggered by enemies coming into that area. It's a built in challenge. You have to position your troops so they don't charge off but instead stay in formation. If you can master that it can be very powerful. Your hero is the most reactive. Use the keyboard numbers to position the troops where you want them and keep adjusting them using their individual numbers. You can also use this technique to create sacrificial troops (zombies are good for this) who stay behind and get slaughtered by the revenge waves whilst the rest of your army retreats to heal up. Remember your armies heal over time. Hope this helps. Give it a plus if useful! Cheers all.
Lovely game but slightly flawed. Combat runs a little slow with pauses between moves. If that could be dialed up a little that would be great. It ends abruptly after the final mission just when things were getting interesting! I'd be very keen to continue. I do love the graphics and them changing to reflect what you wear. The story line seems good and as said above is just getting interesting when the game ends. Be warned you can only get to level 6 or 7. One of the let down were the powers that you can gain. Frankly they are rubbish and don't add much to the game. I found the shield ones the most interesting and useful. So faster and longer would be good. Not as good as The Book of Dread which is also available on Kongregate even with the better graphics.
I have a lot of respect for anyone who can program at all and this is a nice attempt but there are several problems. I completed the game on my first attempt without ever losing more than a fifth of my health. It's just too easy. Once the archer gets maxed out he pretty much does all the work.
Nice unit ideas but there needs to be more and make them tougher. One hit and their dead gets old.
Maybe put it on a map basis like Epic War and have different castles at each point?
Also please give me a mute button for the terrible music so I can hear the sfx on its own!
Also having the enemies coming in from all sides would be better.
On the plus side nice graphics and good units.
