You only need to use Beam Weapons until lvl 19. For lvl 19 use the very first gun you had to unlock excalibur, an incredibly powerful machine gun varient. Use this weapon for Loki (& lvl 20 if you wish)
Every weapon, card, fully upgraded ship & lvl 99 in every weapon specialism, great game. Once you have beaten Loki, you are riduculously powrful with his ship and the SP beam weapon.
BTW Loki and Odin are Gods from Norse mythology, Loki is the trickster and Odin is the leader of the 'good' Gods.
Awesome!, beated loki in the first try, just used the tip: BEATING LOKI: Use the Odin ship with the Excalibur weapon and dodge/shoot until "device overdrive" special is charged. Then abuse Odin's invulnerability to get to 200k chain so you score 50%+ bonus to special when invul wears off. Survive until you can fire special a second time. That last special should get you past him. To unlock Odin, beat lv20. To unlock excalibur, beat lv19 with only the first weapon (not as hard as it sounds with upgrades - if you need easy gold, play lv18 over and over). IF THIS HELPED COPY-PASTE AND KEEP IT ALIVE.

Good game, although a little repetative and at no point did I find a weapon in any of the weapon locations, so I don't know what they are all about.
Great Game, 151,500 is my top score, but it didn't register the achievement :(
I think that the control mechanic is very well thought out and lends itself to fluid gameplay. 9.5/10
