A decent game 3/5. What keeps it from being great are the issues many have already mentioned: lags, weapon balance, accuracy at point-blank range, melee weapon range, trading, companions, ceiling zombie attack placement, some small glitches here and there. It would be nice if the vision range would be a lot higher to make using log range firearms more favorable. This could be done e.g. rolling the screen when you move mouse to the side of it.

There's this strange cacophony in the background when you disable music. It's quite low volume but still audible. You can actually hear it also when the music is on, if you listen carefully.

Pretty decent game 3/5. I'll return to it when the bugs are fixed. After loading my save, I can't view the stats of some of my items and cannot remove them from my character either.

If you don't want to rely on luck, the surest way to get level 14 brilliant: maxed Mana Pool, Adoration, Meteor Study, Meteor Mastery; maxed Burning Temple (Hellfire temple) on both high grounds; some cash (or towers to sell). Hellfire Temples Scorching Aura shoots immediately, never misses and its Daze also slows down the ninja. Blast all your 5 meteors on him right when you see him by holding shift key and clicking mouse button, fast. While still holding shift, press 3 to build 5 temples to get 100 mana for one more meteor. Release shift, Press E, aim and shoot the last meteor. The ninja is dead.

To add to my last comment: To get brilliant in last level you also need to max Basic Training, Meteor Study and Meteor Mastery just to get that level 40 ninja. Note that there's only 2 mana pools in the last level, so you need few Ghost Crypts to get mana faster. Build them first after the mana pools. Remember the upgrade plan. If possible refrain upgrading the crypts until they have 1000 experience. Then directly upgrade them to Ghosts.

Gold Vault, Cut Out Study, Cut Out Mastery, Mana Stock, Mana Pool, Mana Extraction, and of course that one point to Soul Vault. Using those skills right you can easily beat the game without any grinding. Other skills are not necessary. First few waves you cut all mana to money and build as many towers as possible, do not upgrade anything until it's really needed, so that all towers can gain experience (i.e. enemies are not one shot killed by one powerful tower). First towers on mana pools. Then build few right where the wave starts so that ninjas get hit hard right away (Burning Temples/Orcish Dens) and few near the cave (Orcish Dens) so that they are killed when they lose their invisibility. Use meteor only when needed. Do not let mana to stay at maximum unused = cut the trees for gold. Hope this helps.

It takes max 3 hours to complete the whole game without any level re-play (i.e. grinding), if you use the basic mana-cut out -strategy. And if you play carefully enough, you can actually finish most of the levels with brilliant on first run. The last level is the only one where you also need to have meteor skills upgraded, so it's good time to play again the levels that haven't been finished with brilliant yet.

Easy game. Just max out Gold Vault, Cut Out Study, Cut Out Mastery, Mana Stock, Mana Pool and Mana Extraction. Then max out Basic Training and Meteor Study + Meteor Mastery for the Ninjas. In the final level you need to place 4 Orchish Dens and few Ghost Crypts in right spots and upgrade them sparingly so that they all get experience, so that you can kill ninjas without using too many meteors. Lich King, Warchief, Markmanship and Ice Mastery will make the task easier.

Yes, maby I was a bit too harsh to say it's useless. It's not totally useless, especially with Frenzy, but upgrading it to max is not wise. I also keep firing with main gun all the time, but the damage it deals per bullet is just too small on later levels. Bases gets harder to destroy on each level, so you should rather concentrate building up skills that deals big damage in as short time as possible (Laser, Shockwave). Destroying the bases as fast as possible is the key for surviving.

To correct myself, you actually shoot 3 laser beams in ~6 secs with Frenzy. At sec 0: Shockwave+Laser+Frenzy, sec 2.5: Shockwave, sec 3: Laser, sec 5: Shockwave, sec 6: Laser = (beam+140 bullets+140 shards) + (140 bullets) + (beam+140 shards) + (140 bullets) + (beam+140 shards) = 3 beams + 420 bullets + 420 shards

With 30 points in Laser, Shards and Shockwave compined with 1 point in Frenzy you shoot (6*140) = 840 bullets/shards + 2 beams in ~6 secs. Each bullet/shard/beam deals a lot more damage than a bullet from the main gun which can only shoot 6*(8*(8+(0.6*8))) = 614 bullets in 6 secs (with same 30 points in Firerate, Burst and SplitterShells). Also note that Laser+Shockwave blasts 140 bullets+2 beams+140 shards right away at the start of a level, not just 12,8/shot as with main gun. In short: the main gun is useless.

Note that Accuracy also increases damage of all special weapons (Laser, Shards, Shockwave, HomingMissile etc.). The main gun is useless compared to the damage the special weapons can cause in a single shot. So upgrading Burst is total waste of points and also you should only put few points to Firerate to get some movement speed. Note also that farming to get more exp is counterproductive as stated by developer of the game. Criticals only affects enemies, not bases, so it's not helping much when the most important thing on each level is to destroy the bases as fast as possible.

Got to stage 29 with this build: 1. one point in each Accuracy, Pierce, Laser, Burst and Shockwave 2. one point in both Firerate and Frenzy 3. one point in each Shards, Knockback, SplitterShells and Siege 4. maximize both Laser and Shockwave putting one point in both at each level up 5. now, first maximize Shards, then Accuracy and finally Siege 6. put three points to Firerate to get some speed for dodging fast enemies 7. maximize Pierce 8. one point in HomingMissiles and maximize MissileBurst Strategy: At the end of each level before going to a next one, remember to wait until Laser, Shockwave and Frenzy are all reloaded. At the beginning of a level shoot your special weapons right away and try to destroy as many bases as you can. First blast Shockwave and aim Laser at as many bases as possible in a line. Then start Frenzy to speed up the reload time of Laser and Shockwave for new mass destruction.

Few bugs here and there. Needs a lot more variety, missions and challenge (I passed the game using only the starting pistol and assault rifle). Otherwise good 3/5.
