@XavierLX TRWSNinjakiwi did a good job explaining, but a trick you can do is decrease production by 1 and increase efficiency by 2 your out put is the same but you save 20% of your inputs because they both count as additive bonuses. So producing alloys can be less of a drain on your metals and crystals or if done with warriors and searching drones they will use less computing. You can only go to -3 on productive but there is no max limit on increasing efficiency.
While the game isn't terribly challenging or long it is quite enjoyable. The first time was a bit of a struggle but after that play through I wiped the boss with 10 "gore" cards stacked and one attack card. I'd love to see more content.
The best way I've found to play is early on avoid damage cards except stab and wanderer and keep cycling cards to buy "inspiration" or if its not there "curiosity". When you fight your OC you should have 15-20 inspiration cards after that just try to stack as many gore cards as possible and everything dies instantly.
The best cards are in my opinion in order are: inspiration (+2 cycle), curiosity (+2 cycle), muse (+8, 5 heal, kills that chain), apple pie (+5, 20 heal, kills that chain), wanderer (draw curiosity), and gore (x2 damage next turn, stacks!!!)
