How to beat the final boss easily: equip the lightning attack, crash into him (so that your ship and the boss are overlapping), and hold down the Mouse 1. He'll be dead before the first burst runs out.

Vortex + Railgun is an awesome combo. Group them up, then PEWPEWPEW. Perfect for levels where you want quick gold or need to kill hordes of small enemies.
