To do survival, get at least unlimited jump and double damage. Once you get to the latter part of survival, just keep hitting up and stay at the top and only go down to get weapons and support. Ideally, you should have the laser with missile as bonus for its seeking abilities to deal damage while staying at the top. This at least help survive 20k without dealing with spikes and dodging.
