So ... kinda lost me when I was slaughtering drunk inn patrons to gather "poor directions." Really? So the slicing and blood and death is ... a metaphor?
What adventure was this on? We've tried to change most of the areas with human enemies like the Drunk Inn Patrons into situations where they run away, instead of you killing them.
Left bug report -- reloaded game, hit Try Again -- all my stat bars are the same, but their bonuses are set to 0%. I bought another dmg, and it restored. But can't buy for the full bars ... so now my rate of fire and range bonuses are gone
Fun game! Deep! However, it's not fun to unlock a gun and not know what it does. "Implode" ... ok? And the shielder ... can guess, but don't know. Be nice to have more informational options besides just the Bestiary.
It's misleading when first purchasing that you buy an "arrow tower" or a "bomb tower" ... and they don't shoot arrows or bombs. Maybe calling them "platforms" so people could better guess you'll have to make a second purchase to take advantage of them.
For me, more than leaving tiles on the screen, it'd be nice to be able to just type a number and have it dangling on the cursor, without going to grab it. Maybe touch again to cycle colors. I like hot keys!
Just want to add thanks for this game. Replay value is high. Lots of fun had. Only feedback I'd give is rare pathfinding problems when someone just stands stuck behind an obstacle. Otherwise, the friendly AI is pleasantly tactical, often using the right ability at the right time.
swiping across the top row with the button held down makes it incredibly easy to hit the "home" icon. which is very very much a bummer. maybe that icon should be moved up a bit?
Love that you're working on this and tweaking it. It deserves it! Good stuff. One note -- the unlockable guns were interesting, but now that you have to work so hard to get them ... it may feel like a let down. They aren't really much more powerful and don't effect gameplay that significantly. And now there's nothing to spend souls on until you start unlocking them.
I really enjoy these games, and this one has improved puzzle design. Thanks for making these! My big criticism is using x's instead of squares is far less pleasing. It's a spiky, jangley, almost aggressive feel -- like caltrops, or sharp stars. The squares fit better with the chill guitar music, and casual energy of the game. When the squares changed colors it seemed almost liquid. That feeling is lost for me with this version.
I'll update the map to make it possiable to go back :)
