Front line of Elite Assassins + Shogun Ghosts and second line of Stalkers = invincible. With this army, I conquered every city without a single casualty.
Keys to winning: 1) focus on building the web at one corner; the web only needs to cover 1/3 of the screen; 2) try to span the threads from branch to branch; 3) eat fireflies ASAP or they'll attract hordes of moths
I pretty much dominated with this config (all at max):
Front: T-Rex, Werewolf, Trike
Back: Blue Dragon, Ghost, Gold Dragon
The ending is anticlimatic though.
Traveling time takes way too long.
Unnecessary cutscenes of ship’s arrival and departure, especially when they employ the exact same graphics.
Too many random, repetitive battles; antiquated combat system makes it unbearable.
Not a true “trading game” as players spend more time clicking on asteroids and enemy ships than actual trading.
Has potential but shoddy gameplay downgrades it to 2/5.
Not bad. However, the number size shot up too quickly. While I was getting accustomed to 8's or 7's, I suddenly got hit with a 40. But overall a neat, creative concept.
Horribly boring game. The waves were too long and the turret upgrades lacked variety. All the grey color made me sleepy. I somehow managed to complete three maps with a cramped finger on the mouse button just to pick up the card. Don't plan on getting any of the badges. I just don't have the patience to plow through such mindless repetition. 2.5/5
Horrible game design. Repairing costs are too high; one unit leak effectively ends the game. The cheesy cutscenes and poorly-conceived storyline made me cringe. President Hillary takes off an additional point. 1.5/5.
The game designers obviously flunked history class. They used a modern-day map and generic Western military units to reflect 13th century Asia. Had they paid attention in class, they would've known the Mongols relied mainly on horse archers and light infantry. It was also utterly stupefying to see nations like Kazakhstan, Burma, and Nepal (countries which didn't even exist back then) more powerful than China. Aside from the blatant historical inaccuracies which detracted from my enjoyment of this game, the repetitive gameplay made me lose interest within 10 minutes. 2/5.
The game is slow at first but after you acquire enough resources and troop strength to trade up in the Qubba area, it becomes really easy to rack up millions.
I like how the game incorporates troops and weaponry from different civilizations. I've found the easiest way to win is to master patriotism and art of war, which boosts troop hp and damage.
Repetitive gameplay which failed to engage me beyond the first campaign, especially after I realized the dual machine gun is the only worthwhile weapon.
