If you're going to lock something like an entire ending of the game behind a "make it to XYZ level without dying at all" clause, it's courteous to build your save system such that the player isn't forced to completely restart the game if they screw up once.
Really fun game, especially with the Quick Matches. Could stand to be a little better optimized though; a one-on-one can lag and delay like crazy at completely random points, forget the bigger matches. I will applaud the AI for not being a bucket of retarded pies, though.
I haven't intentionally dragged out as many fights as I have in this game since Epic War...
Great leveling system. Reminds me a bit of Dark Angel with the "Exp just for hitting them" deal.
The only problem I can see with this game is a very slight audio desync, and I'm pretty sure that's just my crappy computer.
Wait, no, there's another problem: This game is nowhere near as popular as it should be.
This is probably the best RPG I've played in ten years of gaming. Pseudolonewolf, you could easily make a profit off of this kind of game, and I commend you for being charitable. I especially like how the combat system makes fights easier the more involved and attentive you are.
The only reason I can't bring myself to like either of these games is one reason: My character can't hit ANYTHING. And because of that I never win any fights.
Even after the game "ends" It's still fun to play by exploring around the dungeons and toying with the stats a bit. I'm going to see what stats I need to get the Lady Mage to like my apprentice, and that should keep me playing for a while, yet.
I don't understand how you're supposed to 100% Dragon Tamer before the end, though.
Overall, a great game, just needs a bit of fine-tuning. 4.8/5 is I could use numbers, but five stars for hard work.
If the Artificial INTELLIGENCE was actually INTELLIGENT, this game would be epic win. But, no, the AI control is more incompetent than a ninety-year-old widow. Career mode is fun to watch, but the challenges are bloody impossible because your bots almost completely ignore your commands and go to "Do whatever the ---- you want" mode the minute they can move.
Improve the AI in the next one and you'll get a lot more positive responses, but as of now, this game is rather crappy.
Ciao for now.
