@theshadowless in a Tamer School run you get a routine to increase the spawn rate of rare creatures. The Demon King also makes it really easy to get research from rare creatures if you manage to farm him
@Elthari @MissAyla - The main way to progress the game in your first run is to slowly get more research from each zone to unlock summons strong enough to beat themselves. This gets very grindy very quickly.
Magic Fiber drops from the dungeon after Rocky Road, Salt drops from the boss dungeon after that one, and Fish is from the Fishing Loop Action that you unlock once you talk to the Sailor and Captain enough.
@MountedWeasel22 - The Orc, when in your party, increases your max gold. As for Destiny, the cap increases slowly as you progress through the game.
@pumuklee - Dim Cave gives 1 pork each time you kill the Orc, and having the Orc as summon team member increases your max pork.
@Liederhoseni Once you beat Tournament Round 2 or 3, you unlock a Cooking School where you can learn food recipes. You need Fish, Salt, and Bread currently in your inventory, and you will unlock the hidden recipe for Anchovy Sandwiches. Give some to the fishermen and dockworkers in the Coastal City to get increased cap to Anchovy Sandwiches.
@GuillaumeC18 stamina and MP are both upgraded by Routines under the Energy subtab starting at Rank 3. You have to "restore" some MP or Stamina, and then you can start upgrading them.
The Idle side of this game? *chef's kiss* Wonderful, the progression of walking through the woods and having Autonomous Kill Drone Sara gain power based on Spirits is wonderful, the theme is great, the minimalist but stylized menus are fantastic.
The "action roguelike" side? Only 4 major mechanics, moving the character onto attack blocks, attack combos, static attack styles, and dodging attacks narrowly for bullet time / extra damage. Plus, personally, I'm easily bored by round 20, but my Auto Kill Drone is currently in round 90 or so.
Just a little more complexity in the combat would push this game from a 4 to a 5 for me. Possibly activated abilities instead of only passives / styles, or player projectiles for a more ranged play style.
Doesn't this break the Kongregate Terms of Use policy? I'm fairly sure that one of the big points is "Any in game purchases must be converted into Kreds and remove all other forms of purchasing."
TLDR, this game breaks the rules for posting games on Kong. Fix it or take it down please.
Wave 6 has the first variation, but it's just a bigger, slower, tankier enemy. The actual difference is unfortunately negligible. It is still a passive falling enemy that does not maneuver or do anything interesting.
By wave 5, the lack of enemy types, the constant shop popup without being able to afford anything, and the slow pace make this game feel much worse than it is. Simply adding a second enemy type that can move side to side at any speed would double the available content... from the perspective of the early game. If there are more types added later, then they need to be shown earlier.
Here's the "polish" that would make this game better (IMO):
1- Current number of resource in the bar. Just the bar doesn't tell you exactly how much you have, and people like that.
2- Short description of each resource bar, just like each action. Helps players understand what each bar "means" instead of having to guess.
3- Actions show the numbers they cost and provide, this helps players plan better and understand the interactions more.
4- More visible milestones. Something as simple as a "growth number" being present at the start helps players continue along as they can see how far they are at a quick glance.
I hope some of this helps!
I was having fun up until level 18, where my lack of a twitch reflex made me unable to continue even though I know what I would have to do to complete the level
