I just played four songs once and got the easy badge, from all the comments I was expecting to have to play all the songs or something to get enough award points.
This game has potential, but the balance of moves available to the person and AI really ruins things for me.
My turn: a three energy is the only move on the map, when I already have full energy.
AI's turn: 4X combo special, energy, special, counter.
I beat the game on my third try, not sure if that's good or not, but here's my upgrade path for a fairly easy end game (the lack of fire power early requires you to dodge):
1. Buy as much loot power as you can (largest treasure chest and flag you can afford).
2. Upgrade your ship as you can, purchasing your third item as a weapon upgrade.
3. Buy another loot item as your fourth item (at this point you should have near max loot).
4. When you reach the final boss sell your loot items and buy weapon power and fire rate (should be one or two from maxed in both).
I ended with 2,000 gold ship, equipped with best two flags I could have, largest weapon power, and largest fire rate.
4/5 This game is a lot of fun, and I really enjoy this genre, but the game-play depth wasn't really there. I never even got close to losing any level, and the strategy is just pile your units up and wait (with the exception of gathering treasure chests and getting the mages on the ending levels). It would be nice if the enemies didn't automatically run at you, so you have to move your units occasionally.
I just maxed att. on archers, and primarily armor on everyone else.
Since 1 pro. ignore = 10 att =50 str. I've found the best weapon for me has been the bow, since it gains pro. ignore when you smith it. Even though you miss out of the life drain skill, my bow has about 150 pro. ignore. = 1500 bonus att. Way more than I was able to get with sword/dagger combo. I also don't rely on the magic spells, so I can do without the extra buffs relating to them from having two items vs one.
Lvl 10: go to level 10 area. lvl 20: go to level 20 area. lvl 40: go to level 40 area. lvl 126: still die in level 70 area. I feel like the difficulty curve went way up right about there.
@cromedome222, you have to put in a name no one else has chosen. Since he has added a pvp version everyone must have a different name for their character.
The concept is a lot of fun and I enjoyed the game. But in addition to other things pointed out, I'd like the ability to either direct my units, or have them attack a little smart intelligently. It's really frustrating to lose because my all of my tanks will chase one weak character into a corner leaving my archers/mages open to attack by every other enemy on the field. I also end up reducing every enemy to 5% health before killing any of them.
Over-all 4/5 though, still a lot of fun.
I must be doing something horribly wrong because I can't even beat the second level of the campaign. I've tried putting all my starting money into miners, then tried all my starting money into soldiers, then tried to mix it up. I've also varied between an aggressive and defensive strategy. Am I supposed to have leveled up playing online to be able to beat campaign or am I just missing something?
