Got to the last level before discovering that you could upgrade the ship body (as opposed to just the weapon). No wonder it seemed too hard for a Medium badge...derp.
Enjoyed the game until I got to "BAM company HQ", an insanely long level which I'm apparently not allowed to leave until I finish and which regularly gives me opponents I have no hope of beating with my card pool. 2/5
A couple less-than-obvious mechanics that I don't think are explained anywhere: 1. Pressing down during a long fall makes you go VERY fast to the side when you land. 2. Once you have the pencil, you can "double jump" by pressing up + A after a jump, which can make certain stars significantly easier to obtain. Hope this helps someone :)
I agree with one of the below commenters; "kill with a shuriken" is quite unclear IMO, and the axe head doesn't look enough like a shuriken for this to make sense. Fine game otherwise.
You can also make him reveal the truth by asking about the United Space Agency (plus one other thing), which is mentioned in the Chess program's info. For some strange reason, the substring "have sex" is considered a swear...though you can get a funny response by asking "Are you male or female?".
Couldn't really tell the two "purples" apart. Mechanics made little sense. At least they had the sense to not screw you over when you had one ball left, though. 2/5
I really disliked this game. I grinded through it for around a half hour (mostly on the last level) and had no fun whatsoever. At least Icy Gifts had an upgrade system to relieve the frustration. 1/5
I think the game would be better if ONLY the guards moved, the target stood still, and the exit was predetermined, or even just always in the place you start. The random movement of the target and the random exit just add too many levels of randomness. Also, ALWAYS put multiple paths in the levels; the best aspect of the gameplay, and the biggest skill factor IMO, comes from judging which path to take based on the guards' movements. Fully linear levels are basically 100% random chance and no fun whatsoever. 3/5
Why on earth are Extend, Step, and Cover not here? I can understand not including some of the version-specific ones, but those three are each in both Dibbles 2 and Dibbles 3, and they make for really interesting puzzles IMO, especially Step. This pack wound up being relatively light on challenge due to the absence of these, IMO, though the puzzles were still fun overall anyway. 4/5.
Really annoying how a blown-up bridge can force you to restart the level. Decent other than that though, better than most other 2D platform-shooters I've played.
Tip for SAM level 11: Don't use the grenades except to get the words out of the top. Once the words are at the bottom, you can get under them using the body of the SAM and manually push them into the proper boxes. Trust me, this is MUCH easier. Sadly, I don't think the Joust can use a similar tactic.
I thought Dibbles 1 was good, and that Dibbles 2 was great, but this one really takes the cake. Extremely cleverly designed puzzles here, with far fewer blatantly simple levels and a lot more thinking and "aha!" moments. Well-deserved 5/5, one of the best badged puzzle games on the site IMO.
Is there some secret I'm not understanding to this game or something? I'm not usually that awful at fighting games, but the Medium's difficulty feels more like a tough Hard badge and I have absolutely no clue how to get the Easy badge...
Games such as this are more fun IMO when you get a smaller ship. The plane is so big in this game that dodging the bosses' bullets is entirely impossible sometimes. The difficulty is mitigated by having a health bar, but it's still annoying. 3/5
