I didn't realize there were other vehicles until after I maxed out the first car. I bought the Jeep and didn't upgrade it, instead I used it to save up the money for the bus. Took a bit of grinding, but it worked out WAY better in the end.
Instead of retrying the first level that I failed, I hit "Main Menu" hoping to get back to my city and upgrade some stuff before diving back into battle. I lost my entire file. Great. The real kicker is that I already read about the save files, but didn't have a chance to figure it out yet. This really needs to be fixed.
This could be a pretty entertaining game, if there were some major adjustments. For example, the mouse catching onto the villagers (which probably meant to make the game a little easier) is actually extremely frustrating as you can never guess exactly where your mouse cursor is going to snap into next. Houses get in the way of picking up your money, so they should either break a lot easier, or you should be able to pick up coins hidden beneath them. There are also body parts that glitch all over the sky, which is irritating and distracting as well. This feels like a game that was created with proper attention halfway through, and then got rushed to release. 2/5.
This game deserves a 5/5, regardless of developer comment. I absolutely love the fact that you guys didn't include the static upgrade system, where you need to improve ship speed, firing rate, etc. It's one of the aspects of this game that makes it unique, separating it from every other shooter game ever. It leaves more room for fun since you aren't wasting two hours of your time repeating the third level to farm money for better upgrades just so you can continue playing.
Some people have said that this game was lacking variation between ships, but I believe otherwise. The damage is definitely noticeable, and there were several different features that made each ship unique and also a strategic pick, depending on what enemies you're up against. I didn't find the upgrade system lacking in any way. Great job guys, leave the upgrades the way they are!! *x5
This is a pretty fun game! It really needs some music and sound effects though; nothing extravagant or anything, just some background noise to liven things up a little. :)
This game could use a lot of improvement. Simple things, such as a replay button, would make a huge difference. Sorry, but I can't see giving this anything higher than 1/5.
Quick tip: You can speed up the game. Press 'G' and scroll all the way to the bottom, then slide the bar up to 200% for the fastest speed.
Now for all the people complaining that the game is too hard because your turret damage caps out: you need to learn how to use combos correctly. Believe me, I struggled with the 2000 kill achievement for ages before finally looking up combos. The method that worked fastest for me was having one blue turret and leveling the damage as needed for a one shot kill each wave. Then I kept a second blue beside it for backup. After I maxed the damage on the first turret, I finished the damage on the second blue to activate the land mine combo. Then I added random stuff from there, and just now got a game over at 3052 kills (Wave 308).
There are lots of great combos. Several people have posted links for combo guides already, but I'll put the one I used here as well - http://onslaught.playr.co.uk/about.combos.html
I wasn't a huge fan of this game, mostly because of the ridiculous grind factor. It took me 3 or 4 days to get the last badge from completing the game because the grind was so bad. Also, I agree with many of the other comments, the H Bomb should have been way better. Although it did help shave a few minutes off the final boss when I had all 3 slots equipped with H Bomb, I only managed to get them to level 4 power and level 6 speed before I managed to complete the game.
The game won't load because the original site is down. Tasselfoot wrote that right below the game. Also, the alternate site at lightdarkness.net isn't working for me. It loads everything perfectly, but it won't register that I'm hitting the arrows at the right time. It just gives me negatives until I die out. Anybody else having this problem?
