@tobybob @bakkart There was some sort of bug in the programming that could not be fixed. That why there's neither confirmation nor final reward for finding all the bunnies on Maze Island this time.
Missed about 10 rubies on Sunday - no idea how I'd possibly spent them. Politely asked the devs to check my ruby history and tell me what happened. Found the reply today (accidentally bought onions with rubies) together with a refund of 10 rubies! Thank you very much, devs!
@SuperDos I've asked in the chat - got this: Pigjr1 —

5 garlic cloves + 10 carrots can be used to craft an energy item that gives 6 energy on use (each garlic seed only gives one garlic seed + one garlic clove per harvest) and this MystraMisc —

so if you use tractor and neighbors, you can gain some energy in garlic and carrots, if you dont use the tractor, you loose energy making this. but still a way to save energy for a later time
Hope it hepls.
I've decided to ignore most of the events and play only if it promises fun or a reward i like. And - if they don't cost more energy and ressorches than I'm willing to spend. Not speaking of what I'd be ABLE to do. I concentrate on main quest line and island developement:
Nevertheless this "neglected-island-syndrome" that comes with the event inflation is frustrating, discouraging and not inviting at all. It's downgrading game fun for me.
Maybe there is a way to find a balance between "4 events per year" and "4 events per month" that will suit beginners and advanced players and top performers as well?
I'm get more and more annoyed by the habit to make quests/events which force us to destroy "natural environment" and turn it into a barren waste to reach goals.
It is boring. It is no game fun. It is kinda fallen out of time.
I'd rather gather garbage and repair damage to make an Island regrow!
@bakkart You will get ONE later as a quest reward. I dont recall when exactly but I'm in the Governer chapter now and got it some weeks ago.
Already have five anteaters now - so no trade with me. Sorry.
Got caught by the same trap. But in a way this stone blossom upgrade works more like a downgrade. Makes it much more expensive to help for visitors and has hardly an advantage for the owner.
I'm afraid that the "average players" who regulary offer all sorts of farm stuff including crops will decrease under the new energy/spice conditions.
More will be discouraged in beginning ... and others might stop early when advance becomes even more energy intense. And ressource draining events every few weeks don't help the regular game progress either.
Somehow I doubt that this kind of game (depending on friend help and offers) can thrive based on "pay to play" gamers only.
But I'm a gaming noob. I'll probably proved wrong.
"Some things in this game hurts its progression and we know its tough to take away players toys, but sometimes you just need to. "
I don't understand this cryptic explanation. I can only guess that it is about spending more rubis for energy and more real money for rubis.
Why should I spend money (or just lifetime) for this game due to more energy limitation?
It just became more restrictive.
Less interesting.
More one-dimentional.
Less fun.
More discouraging.
And I see engaged and eager players leave. :sob: It promises to become a good weekend for game changing decisions.
In answer to: todays announcement:
"Don’t hate us too much and have a good weekend."
I don't hateyou / the developers. I won't hate because of a game. I'm not even angry. I will not have a good weekend in Oceania. I'm just sad.
"Todays announcement is not fun. We have doubled the amount (of spice) needed to craft Gingerbread. "
I've learned today that the game - the devs - intentionally prefer unsocial playing mode.
- Feeders are punished because each feeding action (or other farm help) reduces the chance to gain spice.
- Harvesters are encouraged to hunt for spice even more.
- Only most efficient and egoistic players are rewarded and intentional double harvesting may be well accepted and considered a clever move soon.
Play the game the same way .... as destructive and "industrial" as possble. Individual approach and creative ideas are overrated and must be more limited.
As far as skin color and clothing choice is concerned I pretty much agree with Kitsunegao. Nevertheless it should have been adjusted by now ... maybe a more international community will initiate a change. And the native Oceanians seem to be the cleverer inhabitants the longer I follow the game. XD
I like the usually kind and helpful community ... havn't experianced toxic tendancies so far.
I cannot judge if this game and its community are better or worse than others - admittedly Oceania is my first and only experiance. The game is not perfect for surebut for me it's likeable and interesting enough to keep me here.
@w4m4w "This game is colonialist (razing pristine indigenous environments to build junk like castles), misogynistic (why is the clothing gendered?), and racist (why can't players be anything but white?"
The "need" to destroy natural environment and variance is an issue for me. I've ranted about it more than once. Tried to fire the achitect of the Barbie-Castle ^^ ... seriously wished I could have skipped this quest line or replace it by another. In the end I've decides to "play it my way" and preserve bits and pieces of the original state. What I do is far from being a model for a RL Utopia - just my little playful world. After all it's just a game.
