For such a simplistic game such as this, the boss level was quite fun and enjoyably challenging. The game mechanics were nice, although I would've liked more 'bounce' from when you hit enemies on the head. Mario, for example, hitting an enemy resulted in more of a jump directly after the head-smashing, allowing the player to pull off a double head smash or even a triple at times. I was somewhat disappointed when I saw that it wasn't very possible in this game. All-in-all, though, I'd give this game a 4 star rating. 4/5
Great attempt at your 4th game. You have improved 10 fold from your last game! Although the sliding could be fixed, this is a great game and very challenging. Nice going, man.
Nice story-line. I really enjoyed the menu you put in and the music adds some amazing character to the game. Couple things though. Adding checkpoints would be greatly appreciated. When I died, my first problem was trying to find the restart button. (Adding a simple tutorial inside of the game would be most helpful to people learning how to navigate the games keys.) My second problem is when I died, I did press the restart button and I was disappointed to realize I was back at the home page. Anyways, man. Keep working your best at these games, you're doing a terrific job!
I really enjoyed the graphics and the music of the game, other than the obvious re-playing of the music even when there is music continuing from the last scene. The enemies were a great addition to the game, although they sometimes glitched up over waterfalls and such. I'd like to see more depth in the story-line and maybe a better main character. Great job, bud. 3/5
I have to say, it was quite fun. My first time through was very easy though. I'd like to see maybe some enemies that draw some more complicated tactics to the game. Also, adding a soundtrack or a musical number in the background would be an awesome addition. Keep on going, Fish. I'd like to see another game soon.
This game is really great. Hot-keys could be added to the game. Maybe allowing the player to choose which numbers or letters on the keyboard for troops, buildings, etc. Also, as Werltiq commented, the game is quite unbalanced. Leveling it out would make the game a lot more defined. The graphics and the over-all the game play is just magnificent; wonderful game you have here. 5 stars.
This is, by far, my favorite game on Kongregate. The voice-overs are so much better than reading the text boxes and quite hilarious; witty, clever, and funny comments go a long way in making a game. The music fit the scene right and the little Joe was crafted into a fine young lad. I especially enjoyed that sometimes when you said something, for instance, "Wipe that smirk of your face.", the character actually did it. Obviously you put a lot of thought into this game and a lot of hours to put this together. Secrets and minuscule achievements went into the game too, that made me play it to find them all. Thank you, Xelu, for making me waste part of my life on this perfectly crafted game.
Sitting in a cell with some old man while a guard watches constantly. I guess he's blind because I've been setting up makeshift rat-traps and continuously entering the secret tunnel behind the obvious poster right in front of his eyes.
Outstanding. Not only did you grasp me in the beginning by showing a unique style of game play at the start, you made the controls simple and easy to maintain. Some complaints would have to go along with this; magic is quite difficult; maybe having it so you can just click the specified spell. All-in-all, wonderfully done your first time around, congratulations. 4.5/5
This is an amazing game, in my opinion. Depth, characters, and even a brief cameo by Jack himself! This Last Stand game really made the Last Stand series worth the play throughs. I would love another one! 5/5
This game is pretty damn good, in my opinion. Since this isn't the final game I will propose some suggestions that are totally up to you to put in the game or not.
[Colorblind mode:] Colorblind people may play the game as well, add texture to the squares?
[Multiplayer mode:] Side-by-side screens with people playing the same game. This could add more awards to your awards menu.
[Customize:] Players may be able to customize the background and/or the tiles.
[Time Trial:] Player must complete tile puzzle after tile puzzle while the clock is ticking. Miss a square, you lose 5 seconds off of the clock.
[Prizes:] Plyers get different prizes for competing awards and stacking higher and higher each time. Prizes really have nothing to do with anything, just to show off.
After this game is completed, I want to see this bad-boy! It's going to be awesome, I can tell. Good work, Mossy. Addicting game.
I had a lot of fun playing on this game and seeing how fast I could type. A few things that could be beneficial to you and the game, though. I constantly find myself typing a word and then missing and pressing 'backspace'. Maybe you should switch that button a little bit because people who type a lot online may press backspace when getting a word wrong. The game does present an addicting experience but does not really apply to everyone. People who don't type fast should be able to experiment with the speed of the letters, the time limit, and the 'letter up' system. Some good things that I thought were beneficial to the "fast typers" was that every word after the displayed word was shown in the bottom right corner of the screen. The only problem is that it felt easy and I could type all of the words without stopping at all.
All and all, I give this game a 3/5. Good work.
The game seems to play like an Atari Game, suggested by reddeye5, with whom I agree with. I found it quite easy to get all of the gems and then exit the castle, maybe something more skillful would be a good add-on. The graphics are smooth and the artwork is wonderfully done for a game such as this. I had a blast dying and seeing those quotes from people talking about ghosts. The sprint was a little off because it went to fast so you end up wasting it from time to time but aside from all of that, this game had me on the edge of my seat. I just didn't want to hear those screams anymore. Great work, Gib. 4/5
